Job Purpose
The Director of Fleet Management (DFM) is responsible for managing fleet assets, and providing leadership and guidance to maximize operational efficiency by developing, leading, implementing and monitoring the Fleet Management and maintenance strategies and processes that support operations for optimal fleet performance. The DFM will also provide oversight of all maintenance management systems to ensure work is performed in compliance with Nextracker's established procedures and safety standards, while utilizing industry best-practices to ensure efficient and effective scheduling of maintenance services, deployment of the machines, on-site mechanics and management of on-site spare parts and consumables to minimize machine downtime and expense. Responsibilities also include staffing and professional development of fleet management and maintenance team members including those at Nextracker equipment yard and in the field at customer project sites.

Job Responsibilities:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs), establish and drive a culture of continuous improvement across all aspects of Fleet Management
- Coordinate maintenance operations using industry best-practices to ensure all maintenance work is performed in a safe, efficient, cost conscious, and timely manner.
- Provide scheduling oversight to ensure team member performance increases productivity and minimizes labor expense.
- Continually monitor and improve equipment utilization, uptime and performance to achieve effective and efficient service performance that minimizes downtime while maximizing cost containment.
- Establish effective inventory management of service parts in the facility and in the field
- Build, lead, manage and develop a team of resources that both work in the operational center and in the field on job sites.
- Monitor and further develop a class-leading preventive maintenance program to ensure Ojjo equipment maintain exceptional in-service status.
- Responsible for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system and Fleet Management Software (FMS) development, implementation, and on-going enhancements.
- Manage service operations to ensure fleet compliance with procedural and safety requirements, and federal and state regulations.
- Oversee Fleet Management team staffing to ensure appropriate fleet service level efficiency and implement professional development programs so team members achieve advanced understanding of powertrain, hydraulic, electrical, and chassis systems, to ensure diagnosis and repairs are performed effectively and efficiently. This will include staff located at Nextracker equipment yard and in the field at customer project sites.
- Develop effective processes to ensure all maintenance policies and records support efficient maintenance operations.
- Continually monitor equipment performance and provide guidance to facility managers to achieve and maintain class-leading efficiencies and expense minimization.
- Provide guidance to, and management of, maintenance team members for all administrative and performance-related activities.
- Effective reporting to senior management on the status of the fleet in all aspects.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an area of relevant studies such as Industrial Technology, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction or 10 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Graduate degree in an area of relevant studies such as Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering Management, or Construction Management preferred
- 7 years of experience in industrial facility and/or fleet management and maintenance required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Strong ability to read and understand technical documents related to construction and maintenance activities is required including surveys, architectural plans, construction specifications, and technical manuals.
- Strong ability to read and understand legal documents related to construction and maintenance activities is required including service contracts, construction contracts, and leases.
- The ability to lead project teams and to manage staff and develop subordinates is required.
- The ability to develop and manage budgets related to maintenance expenses and capital expenditures is required.
- Ability to communicate, build relationships, and collaborate effectively with other leaders in the corporation including Supply Chain Operations, Finance, Legal, Sales, and executive-level management.
- Robust PC skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project) required
- Valid Passport and Driver License required

- The job requires travel approximately 25% of the time as fleet will be spread across the country
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- The employee will be required to walk, crawl, crouch, climb ladders and be comfortable with heights to perform site observation/inspection duties related to this position.
