The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Organizes and develops hospital support programs by recruiting, interviewing, training, and onboarding community volunteers in compliance with all NYSDOH, NYSDOL, and Joint Commission requirements. Works with hospital administration and the Friends of Strong Advocacy Board to plan, develop, manage, execute, and evaluate fundraising programs for the Friends of Strong. Provides input to and oversight of contracting partnerships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Friends of Strong to ensure that all objectives are met. Represents the Friends of Strong as the primary contact at a senior level on programs and projects.
- Recruits, hires, and trains all Friends of Strong paid staff. Provides training and development, supervises work, evaluates performance, and takes action on discipline, promotion, salary, and other personnel matters.
- Assumes accountability, as well as operational and marketing support, for financial management of all of the Friends of Strong activities. Provides oversight for contracted services, ensuring the vendor meets all contract terms. Develops and monitors the operating budget for Friends of Strong. Oversees fiscal management of the department. Develops and implements systems procedures related to fiscal infrastructure.
- Develops and monitors guidelines for the placement of volunteers. Maintains communications with volunteers and hospital departments to increase departmental participation to host volunteers. Oversees development and maintenance of the volunteer database to track all aspects of volunteer participation and compliance.
- Maintains contact with community agencies overseeing volunteer programs. Represents the Friends of Strong in the community and at state and national conferences.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in a volunteer or human services setting, including 3 years of experience in a leadership capacity required
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Sales experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Familiarity with contract negotiations/oversight, fundraising and event planning oversight required
- Knowledge of budgeting and financials processes required
