Global Logistics Director

The Director of Global Logistics will transform the logistics organization into a strategic, forward-looking group capable of driving enterprise-wide savings, on-time delivery, quality, and consistent, efficient internal processes. Candidate will have overall responsibility for global logistics to encompass procurement, demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, production planning, warehouse/logistics and distribution. This position reports directly to the VP Global Supply Chain

Core Duties:
  • Developing and implementing supply chain strategies to increase efficiency and profitability
  • Managing all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, planning, warehousing, transportation, and logistics
  • Overseeing the sourcing and procurement of raw materials and other essential supplies
  • Develop a VMI or Consignment inventory process in support of large client business and volumes
  • Working closely with other departments to identify key business needs and ensure supply chain processes are aligned with these needs
  • Leading and coordinating supply chain management team for premier clients
  • Implementing new technologies and methodologies to enhance supply chain operations
  • Maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers, and negotiating contracts to secure advantageous terms
  • Setting performance targets for the supply chain team and monitoring their performance
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, as well as applicable laws and regulations
  • Analyzing supply chain data to identify potential areas of improvement and implementing changes as necessary
  • Overseeing inventory management to ensure optimal levels of stock
  • Managing risks within the supply chain and implementing contingency plans to mitigate these risks
  • Oversight of 3rd party providers
  • Drives and monitors fiscal responsibility through budgetary planning and implementation. Monitors process improvement initiatives to achieve value-based outcomes.
  • Deliver a scalable operating model across multiple locations with different volume and complexities.
  • Full accountability for internal and external customer service levels and deliverables.
  • Report, interpret, and summarize business and financial information to the executive team
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement
  • Experience with international operations; global trade compliance, global communications, planning, and shipping.
  • Ability to work in a demanding and dynamic fast - paced environment with the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Oversight of regional logistics and operations personnel


Qualifications:
  • BS or BA in supply chain management or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 5-8 years of manufacturing supply chain experience.
  • At least 3 years of people management experience.
  • Proven Lean and Six Sigma experience desired
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain management, inventory management, production planning, and global transportation services.
  • Knowledge of the electronic manufacturing environment; materials, and processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with a results-oriented track record, closing issues and achieving targets.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, team and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Strong understanding of IT capability where supply chain is involved to include an understanding of integrated business applications (ERP, MES, WMS, EDI).
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus, manage time, and adapt to new challenges in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to lead, train and mentor employees individually and as a team
