Description:
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced AI & Technology Policy Expert to join our nimble and results-driven team. This individual will play a critical role in shaping our policy positions and implementing strategies related to SoftBank's investments, including policies supporting AI infrastructure from data centers to energy sources. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the AI ecosystem and have both public and private sector experience.

- Analyze and monitor AI policy trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
- Develop and recommend policy positions and advocacy strategies that will advance AI infrastructure.
- Engage with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and academic institutions to advance our policy objectives.
- Maintain an understanding of global geopolitics as it relates to the AI industry.
- Prepare policy briefs, reports, and presentations on complex AI issues for a variety of audiences, including internal stakeholders, government officials, and industry groups.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and meetings, serving as a subject matter expert on AI policy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of policy positions with overall organizational goals.
- Provide insights and strategic advice to senior management on potential impacts of proposed policies on SoftBank investments in the AI ecosystem.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years of experience working for the U.S. government desired, and 2+ years of private sector experience welcomed.
Physical Requirements:
- Office location in downtown Washington, D.C.
- In person (Required in office 4 days per week.)
