As a Product Owner for Credit Trading Technology, you will be responsible for owning and prioritizing the product backlog, collaborating with stakeholders, and guiding the development of technology solutions that enhance credit trading capabilities. You will work closely with development teams, traders, risk managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of innovative products aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Backlog Ownership: Act as the primary owner of the product backlog, maintaining a clear and prioritized list of user stories and product requirements. Continuously refine and groom the backlog, ensuring that it reflects the evolving needs of the business and aligns with strategic goals.
- Product Vision and Strategy: Collaborate with senior management, stakeholders, and customers to define the product vision and strategy for commodities trading technology solutions. Ensure alignment between the product roadmap and business objectives, identifying opportunities for innovation and market differentiation.
- Agile Development Process: Serve as a key member of an agile development team, participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews. Collaborate with the development team to provide clear guidance and direction on user stories, ensuring that the product vision is understood and executed effectively.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage and collaborate with stakeholders, including traders, marketers, quants, operations teams, and technology teams, to gather requirements, understand user needs, and incorporate feedback into the product backlog. Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of priorities and successful product delivery.
- Product Roadmap Execution: Develop and maintain a clear product roadmap, aligned with the overall business strategy. Break down the roadmap into incremental deliverables, defining priorities, and ensuring the timely execution of product releases. Continuously monitor progress and adjust priorities as necessary.
- Product Testing and Quality Assurance: Collaborate with technology team members to define acceptance criteria and ensure the quality and usability of the developed products. Conduct thorough testing, provide feedback, and support the resolution of issues and defects to deliver high-quality commodities trading solutions.
- Product Performance Analysis: Analyze product performance, user engagement, and feedback to measure the success of delivered features. Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions regarding future enhancements and prioritize product improvements based on user feedback and business impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 9+ years of experience as an Agile Product Owner or similar role within the commodities trading or financial technology industry.
- Deep understanding of credit trading operations and pricing, with expertise in credit product trading lifecycle as well as in depth knowledge of electronic trading and associated technologies.
- Proficient in agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, with a track record of successful product delivery in both agile and waterfall environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable user stories and product specifications.
- Expert communication, collaboration, influence and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and facilitate productive discussions.
- Deep knowledge of fixed income and credit trading platforms
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with an ability to manage ambiguity.
- Familiar with business strategy and assessments (i.e. feasibility studies, business cases and/or cost/benefit, project sizing and costing, and current state analysis/needs assessments).
- Seasoned expert with extensive industry knowledge.
- Technical leader viewed as a thought leader for innovation.
