Why this role is important?

Director, Healthcare Quality - 14 Month Contract

We are hiring a Director, Healthcare Quality.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Healthcare Strategy & Analytics, the Director is responsible for driving quality improvement including supporting the work of the Patient Care & Quality Board Committee and ensuring successful adoption and enhancement of provider-facing quality improvement tools. The Director will lead development of evaluating frameworks to assess patient and system outcomes related to quality initiatives and ensure continuous improvement across health and wellness priorities.

The director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior leadership across the enterprise, and external partners to evaluate, prioritize, and establish strategic initiatives and the related roadmaps and execution plans.

About you:

You have a strong background in healthcare quality and evaluating outcomes. You are a proven leader, effective communicator, and bring a collaborative mindset. You have extensive experience using data and analytics to drive decision-making based on complex information, particularly in the context of quality improvement and system level enhancement.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and oversee quality improvement and evaluation initiatives from planning to execution
  • Develop best practice guidance based on evidence and research to guide evaluation, clinical outcomes, and health system outcomes
  • Prepare planning materials and content in support of the Patient Care & Quality Committee
  • Work in partnership with technology and analytics teams to generate actionable business and outcomes intelligence
  • Develop and refine use cases, opportunity assessments, and outcomes models
  • Lead day-to-day coordination of cross-functional, enterprise-wide implementation and execution planning, resolving issues as needed
  • Use superior PowerPoint and written communication skills to develop clear and captivating presentations for senior leadership, cross-functional team members and potential external partners.
  • Become the subject matter expert in relevant areas of healthcare quality improvement, as well as relevant regulatory and industry developments


What You'll Need:
  • University degree with a concentration in Health Sciences (or similar program)
  • Advanced degree preferred in relevant field to healthcare quality and outcomes
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare sector with a proven track record of successes
  • Strong background in program evaluation, quality improvement, health outcomes, business strategy and healthcare analytics required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Must be able to work with complex data sets to form analytic and reporting solutions and collaborate with colleagues to align on statistical and other methods to derive valid analyses
  • Ability to be proactive on deliverables
  • Ability to lead and manage projects across cross-functional teams to achieve business goals
  • Ability to understand healthcare regulatory frameworks and the dynamics of the Canadian healthcare ecosystem
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with highly refined communication and interpersonal skills
