The Role
This position is responsible for contributing to the development of the strategy for total rewards, HR technologies, and analytics in alignment with the company's business objectives and the Employee Value Proposition.
In this leadership role, this position works with a team of professionals to deliver HR technologies that enhance the employee experience and total rewards programs that are competitive, scalable and sustainable to ensure they optimize the company's ability to attract, retain and reward top talent. By collaborating with HR business partners and business leaders, this role brings a level of expertise and business experience providing appropriate linkages to current and new programs.
This position embeds a culture of continuous improvement and quality service while ensuring appropriate governance practices and controls are in place in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

The Role
This position is responsible for contributing to the development of the strategy for total rewards, HR technologies, and analytics in alignment with the company's business objectives and the Employee Value Proposition.

Total Rewards, Strategy and Program Development
- Contribute to setting the total rewards strategy in alignment with business objectives and the Employee Value Proposition.
- Implement a total rewards framework with the total investment in reward programs driving the right employee behaviours.
- Design and implement compensation programs that reinforce a pay for performance philosophy.
- Working with business leaders design and oversee sales compensation programs that align to the business strategy and sales culture.
- Lead Total Rewards operations ensuring agility, adaptability, accuracy and compliance to the company's compensation philosophy and administrative controls.
- Creatively address compensation issues that arise (i.e. hot skills, market competitiveness, regional compensation, new legislation, etc.).
- Provide guidance in the development and maintenance of Board of Director and Executive Compensation plans including risk management protocols and procedures.
- Recommend third-party consultants in support of compensation initiatives. Negotiate compensation vendor contracts and statements of work and manage deliverables to budget.
- Monitor market trends and evaluate external competitiveness of the Company's compensation and benefit programs and make appropriate recommendations.
- Collaborate on the production of HR Committee and Board of Director quarterly packages.
- Oversee the annual compensation cycle ensuring accuracy and appropriate levels of control are in place throughout the process.
- Develop communications and change management strategies as it relates total rewards programs.
Lead the Development and Maintenance of Benefit and Retirement Plans
- Lead the development and implementation of new benefit programs consistent to the total rewards strategy and Employee Value Proposition.
- Oversee the administration of benefit programs, policies and procedures ensuring alignment with the company's objectives.
- Work with and build relationships with insurance and third-party providers.
- Oversee life, health and disability programs along with retirement and investment benefits.
- Oversee the analysis of benefits and investment programs and make recommendations to ensure cost effectiveness and competitive offerings.
- Working with the HR Total Rewards and HR Technology & Analytics teams to forecast compensation and benefit expenses for corporate budgeting purposes.
- Participate in benefit contract negotiations and ensure ongoing maintenance of contracts and up-to-date materials available to employees.
Oversee the Company's HR Technologies
- Lead the alignment of HR technologies with the HR technology strategy and roadmap in support of overall business plans.
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership of HR technologies, including UKGPro and the Cornerstone on Demand talent management system.
- Oversee new system releases with the identification of impacts, requirements, testing plans and deployment while ensuring data integrity and system functionality is maintained or enhanced.
- Oversee and enable team members in leveraging functionality of various systems in support of process improvement initiatives.
- Lead vendor relationships, contract negotiations and partner with IT on renewals, new business needs and budgeting.
- Proactively develop governance protocols and controls to ensure compliance with company requirements and industry standards.
Oversee HR Reporting and Analytics
- Leverage HR systems to enable team members to produce meaningful data insights and to support management decision making.
- Provide oversight in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual HR reports that summarize key data into charts and visuals.
- Effectively communicate key issues and trends and recommend appropriate courses of action based on the results of completed analyses.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of standards for HR metrics and related data (e.g. purpose, definitions, formulas, file management, etc.).
- Oversee ongoing process improvements in the execution of reports, dashboards and the annual salary and headcount budgeting process.
Advisor on Compensation, Benefits, HR Technologies and Analytics
- Act as a senior internal consultant and point of contact for compensation, benefits, HR technologies and analytics.
- Oversee the job evaluation program ensuring it is optimized to align to evolving governance and business needs.
- Coach, mentor and advise business unit leaders, managers and members of the HR team on current and new compensation and benefit programs, policies and procedures.
- Develop HR analytics frameworks to monitor workforce trends and drive predictive analytics for workforce optimization
Lead and Manage Staff
- Ensure team alignment with the company's Vision, Mission and Values as set out in the Strategic Plan both internally and externally within the industry.
- Recruit and develop the right people that believe in and reflect in their behavior MCAP's Values and culture.
- Establish, monitor and communicate performance standards to direct reports, reinforcing individual results, work quality, continuous improvement, teamwork and achievement of MCAP's objectives.
- Educate, coach and counsel staff to ensure they are empowered to effectively handle their roles in a confident and professional manner.
- Establish and maintain an effective system of communication throughout the business unit.
- Develop synergies within the Total Rewards and HR Technology & Analytics functions to provide best in class solutions and optimize overall resources.
- Ensure a continuous improvement culture is established and encouraged.
Mergers & Acquisitions
- Lead any due diligence requirements as it relates to Total Rewards and HR Technologies & Analytics matter with potential mergers and acquisitions.
- Work with integration team on all HR technologies and data conversion matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, including identification of differences and solutions to harmonize/integrate new processes, and role security accesses.
- Oversee all required activities, accountabilities and time frames for technology integrations as may be required.
Contribute to HR Strategic Planning
- Participate in the overall HR strategic planning process and contribute with specific initiatives that arise from the planning process.
- Assist with setting the long-term road map for HR with specific contributions relating to areas of accountability and expertise.
- Facilitate communication and understanding of HR's strategic direction, goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the annual HR budgeting process and monitor the monthly performance summaries.
What You Bring To The Team
- 10 - 15 years of progressive experience in HR with experience in total rewards HR technologies and analytics
- Experience in strategic human resources planning ensuring alignment to business needs
- Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills with ability to link solutions to business strategies
- Strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated relationship building skills at all levels with a proven ability to deliver customer focused results
- Ability to create innovative strategies and solutions
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and persuasiveness skills
- Results-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively and meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing teams in a collaborative, high-performance environment
- Self-driven, motivated with the ability to work independently and as a member of team
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- High proficiency using human resources information systems, with experience in system procurement, implementation and optimization
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Carries out duties with integrity and takes responsibility for actions
- CHRL designation or equivalent
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or equivalent working experience
