The Director, Human Resources Delivery will lead and foster a positive and progressive employee program delivery and employee relations culture that aligns with ENMAX's strategic vision. This role provides vision, direction, and strategic oversight, in the areas of Labour & Employee Relations, Business Partnering and Talent Acquisition.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Foster the relationship with our union partners and lead the collective bargaining process, arbitrations, escalated human rights cases, respectful workplace matters, and union affiliated committees, while coaching and mentoring on labour relations acumen across the business and within the People and Culture team


  • Provide counsel on human resources programs & policies including collective agreement adherence, performance management, talent and succession planning, workforce planning, employee engagement and development, organizational structure, disability programs, and compensation to business leaders


  • Using strong business partnering skills, provide professional and confidential advice to management and senior executives on potentially sensitive matters and act as an escalation point for issues that cannot be resolved within the business unit, or that have broader reaching implications


  • Provide strategic direction and support to a Talent Acquisition function focused on attracting the top external talent and fostering internal growth by partnering with employees and leaders to promote development and career mobility.


  • Advance an HR consulting model, in partnership with other Center of Excellence (COE) teams, while applying broad perspectives and collaboration to proactively identify business needs and apply effective solutions


  • Responsible for assisting in the timely and accurate preparation and presentation of data, analytics and information updates in the aforementioned areas to the ENMAX Executive, ENMAX Board of Directors and applicable Board Committees


  • Influences, persuades, and provides thought leadership at all levels of the organization to ensure support and proper application of existing HR programs and policies


Education:

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field


  • Masters degree or a Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation (CPHR) is considered an asset


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience


  • Experience leading, coaching, developing and managing a diverse team of professionals with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity


  • Expertise in labour and employee relations including experience leading bargaining of unionized collective agreements


  • Demonstrated and competent change management practitioner


  • Previous work experience in a regulated environment would be considered a strong asset


  • Experience and comfort with budgeting, reporting and expenditures

  • Sound business judgment and acumen coupled with dispute resolution and negotiation skills

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
