What you will do:

Are you a strategic HR leader ready to drive transformation? Johnson Controls is seeking a Director, HR Business Partner to spearhead talent strategy, leadership development, and organizational design for our North American Field Systems and Service teams. As a key advisor to senior executives, you will shape our people strategy, ensuring we attract, retain, and develop top-tier talent in a fast-evolving, technology-driven industry.

This role is a unique opportunity to influence the future of our workforce, fostering an engaging and high-performance culture that sets new standards in the building solutions industry.

How you will do it:
  • Strategic HR Leadership: Serve as a trusted partner to senior executives, providing market-driven talent insights and driving workforce strategies that fuel business success.
  • Talent & Organizational Development: Design scalable people strategies that strengthen leadership capabilities, optimize organizational structure, and enhance employee experience.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage analytics to assess workforce trends, identify skill gaps, and proactively address evolving market needs.
  • Culture & Engagement: Foster a high-performance, experience-based culture that attracts, develops, and retains top talent, making Johnson Controls a destination workplace in the industry.
  • Market Competitiveness & Change Leadership: Continuously evaluate and refine HR programs, ensuring alignment with market trends in industrial, high-tech, and service-driven organizations.


What we look for:

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • 10+ years of HR leadership experience, with a track record of driving business-aligned HR strategies.
  • Experience working in a field-based business environment.
  • Proven success in leading large-scale talent initiatives within a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to translate strategy into action, delivering measurable business impact.
  • Experience in organizational design, leadership development, and HR analytics.


Preferred
  • Advanced degree in HR or other business-related field, advanced HR certifications
  • Change leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Experience in HVAC, automotive, industrial, or high-volume manufacturing industries.
