Job Title: HR Director

FLSA Status: Exempt
Hybrid Work Schedule- 3 days in office, 2 days from home

General Overview: The HR Director position is responsible for planning, leading, and overseeing all aspects of a company's human resource function including but not limited to talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, management coaching, employee engagement, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and development and interpretation of company policies and practices. The HR Director is responsible for aligning HR strategies with the overall business goals by managing the HR department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
  • Oversees and actively participates in the performance management process, including format, process and communications, review of evaluations, constructive manager feedback, etc.
  • Leads and participates in employee meetings including performance improvement plans, disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
  • Performs exit interviews and addresses concerns or builds on positive feedback for improvements in the workplace.
  • Participates in employee engagement committee for employee activities such as company outings, volunteer days, annual events, etc.
  • Provides focus and leadership regarding best practices regarding culture and diversity awareness.
  • Promote a positive work environment, enhance employee engagement, and address workplace issues to maintain a healthy and motivated workforce.

TALENT ACQUISITION
  • Oversees and actively participates in talent acquisition process including use of best practices in recruiting, interviewing, compensation negotiations, on-boarding, orientation, etc.
  • Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competency requirements.
  • Maintains active job descriptions for all entities.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:
  • Spearheads development of management training and development program
  • Manages annual training grant application process for the state of Missouri, including completing application process, selection and planning of courses offered, coordinating class schedules with universities and employees, filing all required state paperwork for training reimbursement, other actions as needed.
  • Assesses training and development needs, designs, and creates training development plans, including manuals, course materials, assessments, and evaluation of online training programs (LMS).
  • Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests/assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Develops master training schedule to assess training needs to ensure compliance with state/federal agencies, while monitors training costs to ensure within budget.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, aptitude exams and certifications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, or related field. SPHR/PHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of applicable HR generalist and/or management experience in a corporate work environment
  • Minimum 8 years of full-cycle recruiting experience with proven success in delivering positive results. In-depth knowledge of recruitment and hiring trends, job market/employment trends, and creative approaches to recruitment. Working knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, or other sourcing platforms preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of HR best practices in talent management and regulatory and employment law.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective, productive training through development and facilitation and/or management of training programs. Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, specific experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and diversity awareness and ability to recognize and welcome differences among people and resolve conflicts respectfully in a timely manner.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of integrity and confidentiality, strong judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to be flexible, open to change, and adaptable.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

Working Conditions:
  • Corporate office environment.
  • Some travel to plant locations and parent company required.
