The Director, Information Management is a critical leadership role responsible for driving Choice's data strategy to enable data-driven decision-making and foster a data-centric culture. This role requires a blend of strategic vision, technical expertise, and strong leadership skills to oversee the full data lifecycle, from acquisition and governance to analysis and visualization. The Director will be the face of information management and analytics across the organization and collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, translate them into actionable data solutions, and ensure data quality, accessibility, and security.

Responsibilities:
Data Strategy and Governance:
- Collaborate with the AVP, Information Systems to develop a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives and assume the lead role in implementation.
- Contribute to the establishment and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.
Information and Data Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's information management platforms, including file management systems, data architecture, data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines.
- Ensure data accessibility and security through appropriate access controls and data management practices.
- Evaluate and implement new data technologies and tools to optimize file and data management, analysis capabilities and data quality monitoring.
Business Intelligence and Analytics:
- Oversee the development and delivery of insightful reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business decision-making.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reporting solutions to track progress against goals.
- Foster a culture of self-service analytics by empowering select business users with the tools and knowledge to access and analyze data independently.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional development and growth.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on technical challenges and career development.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers related to information and data management, and analytics.
- Negotiate contracts, oversee service delivery, and ensure vendor performance meets expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in information management, business intelligence, data analytics, or data engineering roles including 5+ years in a related leadership role with a complex organization.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful data strategies and initiatives.
- Extensive knowledge of BI tools, including building reports, dashboards, and data visualizations. Experience with Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, data architecture, and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in managing and optimizing data lakes. Experience working with cloud-based data warehousing platforms such as Synapse, Snowflake or Databricks.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles and data quality frameworks.
- Proficiency in SQL and other query languages; familiarity with Python or R is a plus.
- Exceptional leadership and people management abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights in user-friendly language to diverse audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships across teams and functions.
- Adaptable to change and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
