The role youll contribute:

The Director of Internal Audit is directly responsible for directing and driving the success of the internal audit plan and the direct assistance provided to the external auditors. A successful candidate will be a hands-on professional with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, a strong understanding of the application of generally accepted accounting principles in the United States (GAAP) and an ability to attract, develop and retain top talent. A positive attitude and perseverance in the face of challenges and/or changing circumstances are also important.

The value that you bring to the team:

Work directly with the Executive Director of Internal Audit to prepare and implement the annual internal audit plan by performing risk assessments, developing audit activities to address identified risks and directing a team to execute the plan.

Manage activities to assess, report on and make suggestions for improving the companys key finance activities and internal controls. .

Direct the delivery of objective, timely audit results and high-quality audit deliverables.

Lead communication efforts with management during review of audit findings to clarify extent and source of findings and obtain managements perspective. Partner with management to develop corrective action plans in response to findings.

Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding healthcare industry developments, internal audit best practices, tools and techniques and sharing such knowledge with the internal audit team.

Provide overall leadership and support to Internal Audit Managers including proactive counseling and mentoring, troubleshooting support, issue escalation and development opportunities through timely review and feedback.

Review department staff performance and assist with professional development.

Partner with external auditors to provide direct assistance and external audit coordination in accordance with external audit deadlines.

Participate in preparation and delivery of Board Audit Committee communications regarding the annual audit plan and audit results.

Available outside of normal business hours.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:

Bachelors degree in Accounting

Minimum five years of recent experience in a public accounting environment or internal audit environment

Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
