Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$153000 - $207000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You'll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.

What You'll Do:
- Lead the development and execution of best-in-class risk practices across one or more asset classes (preferably equity and/or fixed income).
- Provide independent, objective assessments of portfolio risks to guide informed, risk-based decisions in partnership with investment teams.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on daily investment risks using tools like exposure analysis, VaR, scenario analysis, and stress testing.
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives involving data processing, risk modeling, and quantitative analysis.
- Act as a trusted advisor to investment teams-translating complex risk data into actionable insights and presenting key findings to senior leaders.
- Design and enhance risk dashboards and analytics across portfolios, asset classes, and firm-wide.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in risk modeling and analytics, continuously recommending improvements.
- Promote a culture of risk awareness through training and ongoing engagement with business partners.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong expertise in investment risk management, ideally within equity and/or fixed income.
- Deep analytical and technical skills, with experience in risk modeling and tools.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and educate across teams.
- Proven track record of leading strategic projects and driving risk-based decision making.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (Finance, Econometrics, or Statistics), CFA or FRM strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in investment or risk management, ideally within asset management.
- Deep knowledge of risk management practices with hands-on experience using tools like Barra, Aladdin, Bloomberg, or Axioma.
- Strong expertise in equity and/or fixed income risk, with a solid grasp of market, credit, and liquidity risks, stress testing, VaR, and scenario analysis.
- Proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills; able to lead, collaborate, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and skilled in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB; experience with machine learning is a plus.
- Comfortable presenting to senior leadership, boards, and committees.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and comply with SEC and background check requirements.
