The Director, Marketing Strategy, will lead a team of marketing strategists and product marketing professionals, each partnering with their respective business units in the design, deployment, execution, and measurement of marketing plans, as well as the crafting & deployment of our value propositions, product messaging, marketing collaterals, sales enablement materials and thought leadership content to support the growth of the business unit. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in developing and implementing successful marketing strategies that drive business growth and enhance brand presence, allowing all business units to meet their market share objectives. The Director will work closely with the marketing operations and market analysis teams to ensure effectiveness in achieving marketing objectives.

Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy
- Lead the development and ensure the implementation of comprehensive, creative, innovative and efficient marketing strategies for each Business Unit, that align with market needs, business objectives and product/service roadmaps for each of these divisions.
- Oversee the creation of marketing plans, track their execution with Marketing Operations, ensuring they are data-driven and results-oriented;
- Actively engage with key stakeholders at all levels of the business unit to understand business priorities; provide omni-channel, high impact and measurable marketing solutions through a strategic marketing plan, in partnership with business units.
- Align comprehensive marketing strategies and go-to-market plans with Marketing Operations Director and Market intelligence Director.
- Prepare Marketing Budget allocation and plan by Business Unit ensuring all budget inputs are aligned with the divisions' key stakeholders.
Product Marketing
- Lead the development and deployment of go-to-market strategies, including defining product positioning and messaging, to ensure it meets market needs and stands out from competition;
- Be a subject matter expert on our products/services and competitive landscape, identify target customer segments, and research & develop marketing personas to fully understand our audience, their pain points, and their decision drivers.
- Manage product launches and releases, ensuring that all marketing materials are aligned with the product's capabilities and sales objectives;
- Develop and implement sales enablement content and sessions for front-line teams
- Disseminate best-in-class marketing practices and keep updated on key market insights, competitive intelligence and industry trends.
- Partner with Sales teams on win-loss reviews to gain actionable insights on marketing strategies
- Ensure deployment of Product Marketing content management best practices
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and effective marketing strategies
- Develop compelling messaging/positioning, value propositions, and marketing collateral to partner with the business units' sales teams in effectively communicating the value of our products and services.
- Ensure all value propositions and marketing collateral are up to date and follow CAE's brand guidelines.
Marketing Governance
- Lead Governance and Project Management: Oversee the deployment and tracking of marketing plans, ensuring alignment with initial objectives, timelines, and budget.
- Stakeholder Communication: Ensure all key stakeholders are informed about the status, impact, risks, and actions related to the marketing plan to drive engagement and impact.
- Performance Reporting: Analyze and report on the effectiveness of business unit-specific marketing campaigns and initiatives, utilizing data to optimize future strategies.
- Stakeholder Buy-In: Foster stakeholder buy-in and maintain awareness of the business unit marketing plan.
People & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and manage a team of marketing strategists and product marketing professionals
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the marketing team by proposing actionable plans to improve ways of working.
- Train team to ensure excellence in processes, tools, and tactics.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Coach and manage performance of team members focusing on results and engagement
- Identify talent pipeline and plan succession.
- Build relationships with BU, Sales, BD leaders and customers.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 10 years in a strategic leadership role.
- In depth knowledge of a variety of marketing functions (marketing strategy, product marketing, digital marketing, brand, marketing communications, etc).
- Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies in a complex, fast-paced environment, particularly in a B2B context.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in marketing software and tools.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and emerging marketing technologies.
- Knowledge of the aerospace industry an asset.
