We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Director, Membership Growth and Community to become part of a prestigious, globally recognized Association in Washington, DC. As the Director, you will be responsible for crafting and executing strategies to drive membership acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue expansion while cultivating a thriving community around the organization. The ideal candidate is a data-driven leader with a blend of creativity and strategic acumen who can identify opportunities for growth, enhance marketing efforts, and establish scalable processes that improve business outcomes while fostering strong connections with members, stakeholders, and volunteers. Travel may be required approximately 20% of the time for key stakeholder meetings.

Pay Range: Salary $110,000.00 to $130,000.00

Director, Membership Growth and Community Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for growth and community engagement that aligns with the organization's goals.
- Oversee cross-departmental initiatives to refine marketing funnels, enhance conversion rates, and maximize member value.
- Identify and prioritize innovative membership acquisition strategies, utilizing both organic and paid channels.
- Create and execute retention initiatives aimed at increasing member involvement and minimizing attrition.
- Design strategies to promote customer growth through upselling, cross-selling, and increased utilization of benefits.
- Cultivate an active and engaged membership community through events, programs, and initiatives that encourage interaction.
- Manage and enhance community engagement platforms, including volunteer forums, social media channels, and other digital spaces.
- Implement strategies to deepen engagement, strengthen brand loyalty, and foster member advocacy.
- Collaborate with content teams to produce compelling materials that educate, motivate, and connect with the community.
- Develop systems for gathering community insights and feedback to inform product enhancements, marketing initiatives, and business strategies.
- Work closely with product, marketing, and sales teams to ensure alignment between growth initiatives and product development efforts.
- Partner with product management teams to identify areas for enhancement, new feature development, and improved user experience that align with growth objectives.
- Utilize community insights, data analysis, and market research to provide valuable recommendations for product roadmaps.
- Leverage data from multiple sources to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities that drive decision-making.
- Lead A/B testing, audience segmentation, and performance optimization efforts.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess membership growth and community success, delivering actionable insights to leadership.
- Oversee and optimize the budget for growth and community initiatives, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Identify strategic partnership opportunities and collaborate with external platforms to amplify membership and engagement.
- Guide and mentor a team to successfully execute membership and community-building strategies.
Director, Membership Growth and Community Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least six years in a leadership role focused on membership growth and community management, with team leadership responsibilities.
- Background in the nonprofit sector is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical abilities with expertise in data-driven decision-making, market research, and performance measurement.
- Experience in digital marketing, SEO, SEM, CRM strategies, and data analytics platforms.
- Proficiency in Adobe Target for A/B testing, personalization, and campaign optimization.
- Experience utilizing SAS tools for data modeling, analysis, and insight generation.
- Proven success in executing community-building strategies to drive member retention and engagement.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to inspire and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Strong project management capabilities with a results-focused approach.
- Familiarity with growth hacking techniques and rapid experimentation methodologies.
