Job Description

The Director shall be responsible for development, approval, accreditation, and implementation of the nurse anesthesia concentration within the MSN Program, as it contributes to the attainment of the mission of LMU and the School of Nursing.

Required Qualifications

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in the nurse anesthesia specialty; *an earned doctorate completed, or in progress, in a related discipline; *professional preparation and credentials by recognized credentialing body in nurse anesthesia specialty (CRNA); *current unrestricted Tennessee licensure and licensure in other states if required for teaching/clinical supervision; *evidence of effective teaching and scholarly activities

Preferred Qualifications

*experience in program development and management, outcomes assessment, evaluation and accreditation.

promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large;

promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students;

participate on university committees;

Job Duty

complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of University programs, both on campus and at extended campus sites;

responsible for management of nurse anesthesia, including concerns/problems related to classroom or clinical (unresolved issues will be taken to Chair, then Dean);

Job Duty

responsible for grant writing, outcomes assessment, accreditation and other reports required for nurse anesthesia;

Job Duty

plan, schedule and manage nurse anesthesia courses in accordance with the curriculum plan;

Job Duty

recommend nurse anesthesia faculty teaching assignments each semester;

Job Duty

coordinate needed clinical facilities, sites and rotations for nurse anesthesia students, including obtainment of letters of agreement, and provide schedules and other necessary communication/documentation for agencies;

Job Duty

notify Chair of needed adjuncts and/or clinical supervisors each semester;

Job Duty

conduct nurse anesthesia faculty/staff evaluations;

Job Duty

assist with the hiring of new nurse anesthesia personnel;

Job Duty

coordinate registration/orientation for nurse anesthesia students;

Job Duty

notify Chair of all Unusual Occurrence Reports for nurse anesthesia;

Job Duty

ensure compliance of ADA, HIPAA, and FERPA within nurse anesthesia;

Job Duty

assist with development of and/or changes to the catalog, student handbook, and all related publications;

Job Duty

generate nurse anesthesia faculty workload forms for presentation to the Chair;

Job Duty

generate adjunct and/or clinical supervisor contracts for nurse anesthesia as needed;

Job Duty

participate in budget preparation and management;

Job Duty

teaching and scholarly responsibilities; and

Job Duty

other duties as assigned
