Viewpoint School is currently seeking a Director of Academic Systems. The Director of Academic Systems manages systems to lead and support the development and operation of the academic program.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of systems for student information and academic operations
  • Coordinates the development of the Master Schedule annually; works closely with the Middle School Scheduler, Division Directors, Department Chairs, and the Associate Head of School to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely distribution of faculty deployment, course offerings, and room assignments
  • Works with the Associate Head of School and Assistant Head for Learning and Innovation to lead and support professional learning for all employees, particularly in relation to the School's SIS and LMS
  • Supports Viewpoint's academic administration to advise, support and coordinate curriculum mapping, curriculum guides, and the process of reviewing and approving new course proposals
  • Collaborates with division administrators and the AP coordinator to oversee the School's PSAT, ERB and AP testing programs
  • Oversees the Academic Advising Program for Ninth Grade Students and supports Academic Advising/Course Selection process for Grades 10-12
  • Works with the Director of College Counseling to maintain the NCAA, UC and AP course lists, and serves as the School's liaison to the University of California
  • Works closely with the Head of School and other school leaders to coordinate data collection, surveys and research initiatives into teaching and learning at Viewpoint

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred
  • The ability to collaborate with and inform teachers and administrators and a willingness to embrace the collegial and inclusive processes of change
  • Demonstrated competency with Blackbaud products, word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and computer functions
  • Excellent organizational skills and creative flexibility applied to the creation of a complex annual master schedule
  • Experience with the diagnostic tools and tests that gauge academic success
  • The ability to anticipate needs well in advance of deadlines
  • Effective administrative and time management skills
  • Proficiency in communication and collaboration
  • Adaptability, dependability, good judgment, attention to detail, and a strong ethical foundation

Compensation: Anticipated base compensation is $125,000-$150,000 depending on experience.
