This position is responsible for managing the Accounting department in the GOM which consists of recording and reporting the financial results to ensure that they are performed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for consolidation and SEC reporting as well in compliance with joint operating agreements. Generate reports internally to management to assist in their evaluation and decision-making processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for managing the Accounting department in the GOM which consists of recording and reporting the financial results to ensure that they are performed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for consolidation and SEC reporting as well in compliance with joint operating agreements. Generate reports internally to management to assist in their evaluation and decision-making processes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, coordinate, and review the work of and organize the regional accounting department.
- Coordinate monthly close, generation and analysis of financial statements and supporting schedules for internal management.
- Responsible for regional accounting department's compliance with document control procedures.
- Daily cash management: manage 1099 filing, US wire transfers, review and consolidate cash and 12M forecasts.
- Ensure sufficiency and quality of Bank reporting.
- Manage collection process and manage AR system, review allowance for doubtful accounts on monthly basis.
- Manage AP system and determine payment schedules; review AP batches to verify authority documentation; check signatory and review payment batches.
- Maintain insurance cost tracking schedules and accruals; prepare periodic insurance reports.
- Lead for Project module for global Canyon, streamline PA functionality and reports.
- Oversee business unit audit and tax activities.
- Oversee payroll function.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA preferred
- 5 years of experience in financial management.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Considerable knowledge of internal control procedures and management information systems.
- Computer literate, 10-key touch, strong Excel knowledge, understanding of GAAP, self-starter, detail-oriented.
SPECIAL SKILLS
- Knowledge of ERP preferably Oracle financial analysis background, Discoverer report writing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, detail oriented.
