We are seeking a Director of Accounting and Financeto join our accounting team in Hunt Valley, MD.

What you'll do:
  • Manage and mentor the portfolio company accounting team, providing guidance and training.
  • Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP, including review of balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide monthly financial analysis and reports to seniorleadership team.
  • Support the senior leadership team in the budgeting andforecasting process, providing insights on trends and variances in accountingresults.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensurecompliance with regulatory requirements and safeguard company assets. Workclosely with auditors to manage year-end audits.
  • Continuously assess and improve accounting processes,systems, and workflows to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • 7+ years of full cycle accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA or equivalent certification preferred. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and themonth-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administrationskills.
  • Ability to lead a small accounting team.
  • Ability to work independently but also take direction fromthe home office VP of Accounting.
  • Great Plains experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting isrequired.

  • Base Pay: $120k to $135k -Commensurate with experience. This range represents a general guideline;however, several factors are considered when determining base pay offers suchas the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate'sexperience, education, skills, and current market conditions. This position iseligible to receive additional compensation.
