DIRECTOR OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year based on experience

DIRECTOR OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES (BCBA Required)

McGuire Memorial, an agency serving individuals with significant and complex intellectual and behavioral needs/autism, is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Behavior Health Services. This position acts as co-lead for the residential multidisciplinary behavioral health/medical health clinical team.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Required BCBA certification

Master's Degree in Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology or related field

Direct minimum 5 years' experience in providing behavior supports for individuals with IDD/Autism

Experience in and certification for staff supervision and training

Acquires and maintains certification as trainer in crisis management

Experience in conducting behavioral assessments (FBA and FA)Experience with assessment tools

Technologic proficiency/competency in order to maintain data collection, electronic records and files, etc.

Critical job duties include:

Supervises day to day responsibilities and job duties of a department of Behavior Specialists and Registered Behavior Techs

Act as Co-Lead for Clinical Team

Schedule and ensure regular clinical team meetings

Develops, leads and implements the behavior intervention program rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis through the use of evidence-based practices

Ensures that treatment and intervention options utilized are behaviorally sound, restraint free, and conforming to best practices, state regulations and agency policies

Works with behavior specialists to develop, implement and maintain positive behavior support plans which are based on appropriate analysis of objective data.

Serves as a resource to behavior clinical team in developing appropriate data collection systems, analyzing data and developing representational graphics and reports that accurately reflect baseline data, intervention data and progress monitoring

Maintain active list of psychiatric appointments and consults as well all psychotropic medications for individuals served

Creating and implementing behavioral interventions within a multidisciplinary clinical team

Manage a caseload of individuals

Review ISP, BSP, related supporting documents, and annual plans at least annually for each person supported, if not more often, and complete the Staff Document Review.

Attends psychiatric/psychological consults appointments to provide behavioral data and updates on application of new/existing interventions.

Is responsible for leading the team in developing and delivering training on various support plans for the person being supported, as well as for individual caseload. This process includes conducting functional behavior assessments, creating positive behavior support plans, safety and crisis plans, psychotropic medication, transportation plans, and annual skills assessments.

Oversees and coordinates training of direct support professionals on behavior support plans, restrictive procedures, psychiatric medications, and crisis management plans whenever documents are updated, supports change, or new team members join. Trains internal and external team members in the understanding of ABA principles, positive behavior plans and crisis plans.

Identifies needs and provides necessary teaching, mentoring, and resources.

Meets with people supported and their teams, at a frequency which ensures effective support.

Oversees and completes the timely documentation of service delivery, including direct and consultative notes, into the medical record and service notes

Complete and pass the Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) training certification process within 4 weeks of hire.

Required to be present and act primary presenter and/or guide behavior specialists during the Human Rights Committee meetings.

Participate in crisis response team.

Compensated On-Call duties on rotation basis
