Director of Business Control

This business critical function will be have global oversight across all strategies spanning credit, equities and fixed income. The successful candidate will bring a combination of strong control mindset, deep knowledge of the trade lifecycle, front-to-back systems and workflows, process optimization and data analysis.

The role:
Provide continual assessment and optimization of the firm's controls and risk management framework;
Work closely with trading desk, business management, product, operations, risk management and technology teams to process map existing workflows, identify at-risk areas and recommend enhancements via optimized processes and tools;
Conduct reviews of front-to-back systems and associated workflows;
Champion the firm's continuous improvement agenda via thorough testing of processes and creating documentation for all controls, processee and workflows;
Spearhead projects in conjunction with Compliance, Operations, Risk, Technology and Trading groups to deliver automation and improved efficiencies;
Develop and implement robust reporting metrics.

The successful candidate:
10+ years' experience in either an Audit, Operational Risk, Operations Control or similar function;
Strong background in delivering to a robust controls agenda, process mapping, and in optimizing systems and processes;
Experience managing multiple long-term and short-term projects under very tight project deadlines;
Highly analytical, delivery-focused and enjoys ownership;
Outstanding documentation skills,in particular as it relates to process, procedure and workflow documentation;
Excellent presentation and communication skills;
Technical toolkit to include Excel/VBA, Python and SQL;
Strong track record of academic achievement;
Professional certification/qualification, ie: CPA, CIA, CFSA, Lean Six Sigma, or similar preferred.
