The Position:

The Director of Career and Advancement is responsible for overseeing and managing the Career Services and Career Training departments, ensuring that CrossPurpose Leaders and Alumni have access to strong employment opportunities, career training pathways, and professional development resources. This leader will cultivate and maintain employer partnerships, manage third-party training relationships, and align career pathways with labor market demands. They will drive innovation in training and career placement strategies, ensuring that both current and future career pathways align with economic trends and industry needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic vision for career services and training initiatives, setting and tracking OKRs for career placement, employer engagement, and program success while collaborating with leadership to align efforts with CrossPurpose's broader goals and adapting programming to evolving industry trends.
  • Employer & Workforce Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong employer partnerships to create job opportunities for Leaders and Alumni by overseeing the Employer Network Manager, managing employer relationships, facilitating hiring events, developing a communication strategy for engagement and retention, and gathering employer feedback to refine placement strategies.
  • Career Training Development: Oversee the Career Training Manager in developing and managing career pathways and training programs, while researching new career track opportunities aligned with local labor market demands, managing third-party training partnerships, assessing program effectiveness, and collaborating with Alumni Advancement to create continuing education and upskilling opportunities.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with Recruitment, Admissions, and Program Teams to align career services with participant needs by ensuring a seamless transition from training to employment, collaborating with the Alumni team on long-term career resources, and supporting Leaders through job applications, interviews, and early employment.
  • Operational Management & Team Development: Provide leadership, guidance, and performance management for direct reports by conducting weekly check-ins, developing and implementing SOPs for employer engagement and training programs, ensuring accurate documentation in Salesforce, and overseeing budget and resource allocation for career and advancement initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor;s degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in workforce development, career services, recruiting, training program management, or related fields.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Experience in employer engagement, relationship management, and partnership development.
  • Knowledge of local labor market trends and workforce development strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop and oversee career training programs.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to Christian faith and alignment with CrossPurpose mission and values.


Salary and Benefits:

  • Hours: 40 hours/week: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, occasional other hours as scheduled.
  • Salary: $80,000 - $96,000 Annually
  • Vacation: 25 days per year, plus the office is closed Christmas Day - New Year's Day, and staff have limited duties
  • Sick Days: 6 days per year
