Job Overview
The Director of Cash Operations for Gulfstream Park Casino is responsible for all aspects of Cash Operations, and the safe and efficient operation of all cash handling and operating procedures, including but not limited to the daily operation of the cashier cages, administration of the vault and soft counts, and assurance that personnel follow all laws and regulations.

The Director of Cash Operations for Gulfstream Park Casino is responsible for all aspects of Cash Operations, and the safe and efficient operation of all cash handling and operating procedures, including but not limited to the daily operation of the cashier cages, administration of the vault and soft counts, and assurance that personnel follow all laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervising staff to meet and exceed performance expectations by establishing and maintaining a positive work environment and effective employee relations.
- Strictly adhering to the compliance of all policies and procedures to the Departmental or Internal Control Manual.
- Providing assistance to drop team in completing drop on a daily basis.
- Administering the supply level for the count team.
- Promoting and maintaining the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to all patrons, employees, and Gulfstream Casino personnel.
- Completing operational paperwork, confirming compliance with approved accounting procedures and prepare daily paperwork for Audit department.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment; assuring staff follows procedures regarding keeping the cage area clean and free from food and personal items.
- Maintaining general awareness of gaming operations at all times and complying with security policies and procedures in order to secure company assets.
- Oversee the hiring, training, evaluating, rewarding and disciplinary or corrective counseling to staff.
- Creating and implementing department schedules in accordance with business needs, company standards, and the Unite Here CBA.
- Approving timecards and PTO for cage and vault team members.
- Submitting maintenance work orders for repairs and modifications while maintaining a current knowledge of equipment.
- Training new or existing employees on job responsibilities and compliance.
- Documenting safety related issues and concerns; ensuring employees are appropriately trained in recognizing safety hazards; partaking in accident/incident investigations; addressing safety issues or unsafe working conditions; creating, implementing and communicating safety initiatives for the department.
- May assist with assigning and auditing AML training records for all company employees who fall under that regulation.
- Willingness to work flexible schedule which does include late hours, weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
- BS in Finance or Accounting preferred; May substitute other business degree or 10+ years of experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience acting as a Cash Operations Manager within a casino environment, is required.
- Experience working in a union environment preferred.
- The individual must possess the ability to interact with staff and patrons in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
- Must have outstanding analytical skills and be an expert level MS Office/ MS Excel user.
- Must be computer literate which includes operation of a windows computer, excel, word, and custom in-house programs. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain in good standing a Professional Employee Occupational License.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.
- The candidate will be required to stand for long periods of time and lift, push/pull up to 50 lbs. The candidate must have sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform the job functions in a fast, efficient manner.
