We are currently searching for an experienced Director of CEI Services to support our Southeast Region located in Atlanta, GA.
The successful candidate will perform technical duties supporting engineers and other professionals in the administration of highway construction. Such areas include construction inspection, project roadway/structure inspection, materials testing, project surveying, and program/regulatory compliance.

We are currently searching for an experienced Director of CEI Services to support our Southeast Region located in Atlanta, GA.
The successful candidate will perform technical duties supporting engineers and other professionals in the administration of highway construction. Such areas include construction inspection, project roadway/structure inspection, materials testing, project surveying, and program/regulatory compliance.
What you'll be doing:
- Direct construction engineering administration and inspection project/program
- Plan and organize the work of subordinate and staff members; develop and/or review project specific policies, methods, practices, and procedures
- Review programs for conformance with Client standards
- Identify and pursue future opportunities
- Develop and maintain an excellent professional relationship with those organizations to facilitate both the successful completion of current ongoing projects and the successful pursuit of follow-on assignments
- Preparing proposals and estimates for new projects
- Reviewing technical work and reports prepared by others
- Managing projects so that schedules and budget are met
- Periodic visits to construction or work sites to perform inspections
What you need to have:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in Construction Management / Construction Engineering for Heavy Civil and Transportation construction
- Familiarity with GDOT Policies and Procedures and experience with GDOT projects
- Knowledge and understanding of project controls, including CPM scheduling, cost estimating, contract administration, and change order and claims analysis.
- CCM is a plus
- Be able to communicate effectively--verbal and written
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
- Valid driver's license.
- A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
