The Director, Teaching and Learning Excellence Center plans and implements university-wide educational development programs and services that align with institutional strategic goals, with an emphasis on faculty, instructional support and online learning.
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Earned Master's Degree, Instructional Technology, Curriculum Instruction or related field desire.
Online Certification
Minimum two years' experience using a Learning Management System, e.g. D2L, Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in promoting faculty development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Provides leadership and support to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships.
Ability to teach online, face-to-face and in blended delivery modes.
Ability to facilitate small and large group training and development sessions and/or live webinars.
Ability to integrate technology into course design.
Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects.
Proficient in Microsoft and Google Suite.

The Director, Teaching and Learning Excellence Center plans and implements university-wide educational development programs and services that align with institutional strategic goals, with an emphasis on faculty, instructional support and online learning.
Job Description
- Partners with the Provost's Office, colleges, departments, and other units to achieve institutional strategic plan goals related to teaching and learning through faculty, instructional, and program development.
- Drives innovative course design, the expansion of quality online offerings, the support of High-Impact Practices, and other initiatives to support and advance strategic plan goals.
- Design, coordinate and implement university-wide faculty development support activities, including but not limited to initial faculty orientations, face-to-face workshops, webinars, discussions, information sharing, and web resources, etc.
- Instruct, manage and support faculty using the digital portfolio system for tenure and retention.
- Instruct, manage and support faculty accessing and using the course evaluation system.
- Use data from support calls/emails to improve customer service.
- Lead OOIT in designing, developing, and delivering recurring faculty development opportunities that use emerging technologies that support student learning.
- Act as a liaison to faculty, Academic Affairs, and the Course Development Team to coordinate quality improvement, course content, delivery, and implementation of online course(s).
- Collaborate with Information Technology Department (ITD) to improve, test, and implement solutions for the Learning Management System (LMS) and other educational tools.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and LMS trends.
- Plan and execute programs related to faculty, students, research promotion and teaching excellence.
- Supervise and conduct performance evaluation for staff members of the Office of Online Training and Center.
- Design, edit and manage webpage content for CTRE/OOIT.
- Participate and support committees relevant to the advancement of faculty and the entire university.
- Manage and coordinate faculty development grants.
