Director of Clinical Services

The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the overall direction of the facility's clinical services delivery, including clinical supervision, consultation, and programmatic planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates and oversees all inpatient clinical services provided by Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital.
• Supervises, trains and oversees staff development of all Social Services and Adjunctive Therapy.
• Ensures that staff has adequate training in all procedures.
• Oversees and evaluates clinical consultations being executed by staff to ensure effective service delivery.
• Provides guidance to staff to assist them in continually improving all aspects of care.
• Responsible for scheduling and staffing to ensure adequate coverage for all departments.
• Manages clinical internship programs with local universities, overseeing school requirements, compliance and coordination with the Human Resources Department.
• Consults with Admissions Department, CNO, and CEO about the acceptability of admissions.
• Represents and distributes information about Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital services to community healthcare entities in a positive educational manner.
• Current on referral sources and interacts effectively with patients, peers and other staff on appropriate patient treatment options.
• Facilitates the patient's access to the appropriate level of care and setting.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, nursing staff, health professional affiliates in community, and other departments within the facility.
• Demonstrates good skills in assessing client's crisis and clinical indicators.
• Maintains knowledge of legal guidelines pertaining to EMTALA/COBRA and abuse/neglect reporting.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in relevant field required
• Current State of Nevada clinical licensure (LCSW, LMSW, etc.) required
• Minimum five (5) years' experience working in Psychiatric setting required
• Experience supervising licensed staff and providing clinical supervision required
• Current CPR certification
• CPI obtained upon completion of orientation
• Familiarity with continuum of care and clinical terminology
• Knowledgeable of patient rights and laws pertaining to mental health
