    JOB GOAL: Pine Island Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Community Education Director to support the learning needs of our growing community. The Director will lead a team of licensed preschool teachers, childcare teachers, and paraprofessionals while developing, managing, and evaluating a comprehensive Community Education program in our brand new Early Learning Center. Program areas include early childhood, childcare, youth and adult enrichment and recreation.

    Provides the Pine Island community with a fiscally responsible, multi-component Community Education Program, including early childhood education programs.

    STARTING DATE: July 1, 2025

    SALARY RANGE: $88,000 - $92,000 depending on experience
    PINE ISLAND EARLY LEARNING CENTER:
    Pine Island Public Schools is proud to have a new, early learning center that houses childcare (approximately 200 children and 6-8 childcare staff) and a school readiness/preschool program/early childhood special education (approximately 100 children and 5-7 licensed teachers). The Director of Community Education will be supported by the Childcare Coordinator and a full time administrative assistant.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promotes the history and philosophy of community education and administers a broad program of community services according to the district needs of residents of all ages.
  • Seeks input from the Community Education Advisory Council, School Board, District Administrators, and general district population for program services and activities.
  • Administers annual budget as approved by the Superintendent.
  • Identifies the availability of federal, state, local public and private financial support for Community Education programs.
  • Promotes, publicizes and interprets existing and planned Community Education programs to the district.
  • Reports, as required, to the Department of Education, the Superintendent, and the Pine Island School Board.
  • Interviews and selects high-performing and licensed Community Education staff.
