POSITION SUMMARY

The Director will report to the President of the Foundation and is responsible for developing and implementing direct marketing and fundraising strategies for patient, physicians, staff, and other constituencies-with the ultimate goal of growing the philanthropic base of support and bolster the pipeline for increased giving to Foundation. In addition, the Director is responsible for qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and prospects capable of making leadership annual gifts ($1,000 to $10,000) to the USC Arcadia Hospital Foundation through a growing leadership annual giving program. The Director's goal will be to retain and increase the number of leadership annual giving donors, while also building the pipeline to major gift programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop a comprehensive marketing and solicitation plan that integrates strategic data segmentation, timely and effective messaging, and deployment across multiple platforms.
  • Implement and execute strategies for identifying, engaging, and successfully soliciting individuals for gifts to support the Foundation with an emphasis on soliciting gifts at the leadership annual giving level.
  • Provide discovery work to uncover qualified/disqualified major gift donors, long-term engagement of annual donors, and obtain new annual donors of $1000+.
  • Conduct visits to uncover inclination, capacity, and readiness, and curate next steps for follow-up.
  • Manage a portfolio of prospects through an active schedule of solicitation, engagement, and stewardship calls and in-person or virtual visits to donors and new prospects.
  • Manage multiple solicitations from inception to completion. This includes writing content, working with designers and project partners, and managing multiple stakeholders. Pieces produced will include letter appeals, postcards, newsletters, impact reports, and other printed materials.
  • Work collaboratively with various stakeholders (colleagues, doctors, researchers, volunteer leaders, independent consultants, etc.) to craft language and content that expresses USC Arcadia Hospital's mission through creative, compelling, and informative messaging designed to elicit direct response, whether in the form of giving, registration, or other feedback as needed.
  • In partnership with the Special Events team, plan, organize, and coordinate activities focused around the leadership annual giving program.
  • Strategize, document and plan comprehensive direct mail campaigns; integrating and leveraging innovations and news across USC Arcadia Hospital.
  • Ensure all materials conform to USC Arcadia Hospital and Keck Medicine of USC's standards and practices for visual identity, content, and health care compliance. Materials must also adhere to established standards and agreed upon calendars, deadlines, and fiscal year budgeting.
  • Analyze donor data for accuracy and integrity in order to ensure the timely acquisition, retention, reactivation, and upgrading of donors. Ensure that all processes and practices adhere to donor and data integrity policies and protocols.
  • Identify ways to leverage analytic data to segment appeals for more personal messaging in solicitations and communications.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, including year-to-date comparisons while tracking progress to goal. Analyze and report results on a weekly, monthly, and mid-fiscal year basis; recommend adjustments to plans as needed.
  • Build USC Arcadia Hospital-specific direct mail fundraising programs for annualized campaigns like End of Year and the Doctor's Day in partnership with colleagues/offices across the Hospital. Leverage past performance to set goals that reflect momentum and the growth of our evolving direct mail fundraising program.
  • Supervise and manage Donor Development/Communications Coordinator.
  • Respond to inquiries from donors, constituents, colleagues, parents, and friends about giving opportunities to USC Arcadia Hospital.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency

The annual salary range for this position is $115,000.00 - $140,000.00.
