SUMMARY: SABG is currently seeking a Director of Contracts to support the Contract and Business needs of the company. The Director leads a contracts team responsible for supporting all company contract activities by providing expert guidance and advice regarding business management, contracts, subcontracts, as well as Quality Control and Joint Venture certifications. The Director will have a strong grasp of contract/legal issues as well as experience assessing financial, business, and compliance risk.

- Review complex solicitations and prepare specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals, bids, and contract modifications. Prepare requests for proposals as needed for team input.
- Analyze, and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedure.
- Provide contractual guidance to business team members for appropriate Statement of Work, deliverable requirements, and other compliance issues on contract.
- Manage contract change control process.
- Develop negotiation strategy and lead negotiations on contractual issues.
- Analyze new laws, regulations, and contract trends for potential impact on business goals and objectives.
- Function as domain expert on selected areas and issues. Provide guidance to internal business teams relating to contract activity.
- Serve as focal point for communications with program, finance, and business team disciplines for resolution of contract issues and disputes.
- Prepare cost/business proposals, including the development and use of Excel-based pricing models.
- Assist in identification, development and implementation of new contract policy and processes.
- Participate as needed in development of business alliance and partnering agreements.
- Support other business activities including, but not limited to, Mentor-Protg Program, joint venture formation/administration, and M&A activities.
SUPERVISION:Some supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to draft routine and non-routine contractual instruments.
- Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures, coupled with ability to identify required improvements to established policies.
- Knowledge of contracting concepts, and experience with the FAR, DFARS, and other supplements.
- Strong to excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Good presentation, leadership and team-building skills.
- Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of contract issues.
- Excellent internal and external negotiation skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Required: BA/BS from an accredited college/university.
- Broad range of experience as a contracts representative with a federal contractor.
- Familiarity with quality assurance a plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Skilled in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
- Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentations (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint a plus.
