Job Description:
The Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Academic Services serves as a key member of the administrative leadership team, providing strategic direction and oversight of the district's academic programs. This role supports the Superintendent with instructional personnel, curriculum, and instructional matters while fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and learning. The Director is responsible for driving curriculum development, professional learning, assessment, and instructional strategies that enhance student achievement and support staff growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Salary/Benefits: $94,210 - $109,911 commensurate with experience
Full Benefit Package including Full Family Medical/Dental/Vision insurance offering
Long-Term Disability Insurance Employee and dependent Life Insurance
5% Annuity 25 Vacation Days
13 Sick / 2 Personal Time Off 10 paid holidays

Qualifications:
- Minimum five years teaching experience
- Valid Michigan School Administrator certification
- Master's degree in Curriculum or Educational Administration, or equivalent
- Three years of successful school and/or district administrative experience, preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with budgeting federal and state program grants
- Knowledge of local and state student assessments including methods of data analysis and dissemination to stakeholders
- Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a broad spectrum of individuals and organizations
- Experience with the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of instructional personnel
- Valid Michigan driver's license

The Director is responsible for driving curriculum development, professional learning, assessment, and instructional strategies that enhance student achievement and support staff growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Key member of administrative leadership team and advises the Superintendent of instructional personnel and curriculum matters
- Oversee the development and implementation of instructional programs
- Collaborate on the non-traditional instructional programs to include alternative education, adult education, and community education
- Provide leadership in planning and conducting curriculum studies including special programs for new courses, funding, staffing requirements, and curricular impact; develops and maintains curricular purchasing program
- Assist administrators with evaluations and individual development plans for district instructional staff
- Act as the district coordinator for all state and local student assessments; analyzes and disseminates student performance data
- Chairs district curriculum committees, Professional Learning Community Liaisons, and assists Superintendent with district improvement leadership
- Coordinate with staff members in charge of maintaining student achievement data and teacher student data link records
- Plan and oversee professional development activities for the district, including professional development for new instructional staff, new teacher orientation and mentoring programs
- Assists the building administrators and the Director of Business Services with formulating and administering the budget in the areas of curriculum and instruction, federal and state grants, special education, and technology as it relates to instructional purposes
- Coordinates with local Private Schools for Shared Services and federal funding obligation management
- Consults with the Director of Technology, Facilities Director, and Director of Business Services to maintain a functional and sustainable funding plan for technology purchases as it relates to student learning
- Act as homeless education / foster care liaison and oversee special population staffing including at-risk and multi-lingual language
- Serves as the district's Title IX Coordinator
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools
