The NFL Players Association's newly formed Strategy and Data Analytics Department is seeking a skilled Director of Data Analytics! In this leadership role, the Director will oversee the organization's data strategy, guiding a team of analysts to convert raw data into valuable insights that inform key decisions for the benefit of our player membership.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics or related field plus a minimum of eight years' relevant experience with at least three years' experience in a leadership role. This position demands expertise in data management, advanced analytics, and strong business acumen to transform complex data into actionable intelligence. Candidates should be proficient with data analytic tools and platforms; experience with machine learning, statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques.

The Director of Data Analytics will collaborate across departments to promote data-driven decision-making and establish a robust analytics framework for the organization. Exceptional leadership, communication, project management skills will also be required to be effective in this role.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Manage and mentor a team of data analysts.
  • Develop and maintain broad, general knowledge of our player membership and their key priorities and issue areas.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data analytics strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Lead the implementation of advanced analytics solutions to drive insights, forecasting, and decision-making
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of large datasets to uncover opportunities on behalf of our player membership.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and security are maintained throughout all analytics processes.
  • Manage data integration efforts and maintain best practices in data architecture and data flow management.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders across departments (Salary Cap, Legal, Benefits, etc.) to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, understandable reports and presentations for non-technical audiences.
  • Track and analyze key metrics to measure the effectiveness of organizational strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Build dashboards, reports, and visualization tools to enable real-time data tracking and decision-making.
