GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director of Day Services plays a pivotal role in the operation of our Day Habilitation and CBDS (Community-Based Day Services) programs. This position is responsible for the seamless implementation, ongoing evaluation, and continuous enhancement of these vital services. By ensuring strict adherence to the regulations established by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS), the Director of Day Services ensures that our participants receive the highest quality of care and support, fostering an environment where individuals can thrive and reach their full potential.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
- Oversees the provision of day habilitation supports and CBDS; reports to Mass Health and related agencies.
- Oversees interdisciplinary team including nursing staff and therapists.
- Ensures maintenance of program participants' records in accordance with Masshealth guidelines.
- Implements procedures, oversees preparation, and ensures compliance in accordance with standards established by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
- Oversees the completion of a comprehensive assessment for each participant, the development of a day habilitation plan and the provision of services under the plan.
- Hires, trains, and evaluates all Day Habilitation and CBDS management and staff.
- Serves as primary liaison between Cape Abilities Day habilitation and CBDS programs, the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other community resources. Attends stakeholder meetings as necessary.
- Participates as a member of Cape Abilities leadership committee and other committees and task forces, as assigned.
- Maintains a day habilitation and CBDS census sufficient to meet program budgets.
- Establishes annual goals for the day habilitation and CBDS programs.
- Completes all billing reporting requirements to (EOHHS).
- Serves as mandated reporter for suspected cases of abuse and/or neglect to the Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC).

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree in business management or related field.
- Minimum 2 years prior related experience in healthcare management with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
- Minimum 5 years health care professional clinical experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years prior experience of individuals with developmental disabilities, brain injuries or other unique challenges.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance.
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- Supervises day habilitation staff in Hyannis and Eastham.
