Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Advancement and supported by a seasoned team of fundraising and administrative professionals, the Director of Development is responsible for developing and managing relationships long-term philanthropic relationships with alumni, parents, and community members to enhance connection and loyalty to the University and its mission through philanthropy. This position works alongside deans, department chairs, and other faculty and campus partners to develop and implement key fundraising strategies, utilizing industry best practices, that result in increased revenue.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategically manage a portfolio of approximately 100 prospects capable of making gifts of $5,000+ annually and financial commitments of greater than $25,000. To achieve this, the Director will understand the process of identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors. Work closely with Deans and other Advancement staff to develop and execute an aggressive fundraising program to meet the strategic priorities of the university. Located in the central Advancement Office, the DoD will work with Deans of a college/school, faculty, as well as other staff and external constituencies to achieve the fundraising priorities of the college/school, as assigned. Meet key performance metrics set during the annual metric-driven goal setting process, including visits, proposals, solicitations, qualifications, and dollars raised. Document contact reports in SUU's Banner database system and create an annual work plan. Participate in other duties and activities of a fast-paced donor-centric advancement team including annual giving, donor pipeline development, and stewardship events. Other duties as assigned
