OVERVIEW:

Director of Training & Development role, reporting to the Chief Sales Officer is responsible for developing classroom and educational programs, executing product, skincare and aesthetic market trainings, that are aligned to brand and company objectives, for internal and external customer groups, as well as providing leadership to field-based trainers to support the various selling activities of a field sales team. This role will focus specifically on developing a level of expertise, through classroom and online trainings and programs, for internal and external customers, that are focused on products, skincare regimens, aesthetic procedures, sales strategies and other business development activities that drive brand strategies for sales growth.

Specific strategies will align with organizational objectives and priorities, that drive performance to achieve and/ or exceed both sales and profit objectives as established at the territory and regional levels. This role combines collaboration and influence with a broad spectrum of both internal and external customers. Leadership demonstrating a high level of integrity, follow-through, innovation and accountability through various activities is required throughout the entire sales team as well as across all internal functions.

Due to the broad skill set required in this role, as well as the number of various relationships to manage across customers or the organization, the skill of influencing is a key requirement. Influencing is defined as the effectiveness in directing activities, gaining acceptance and guiding others toward task accomplishment without supervisor responsibilities. This person will need to ensure alignment to organizational objectives and corporate compliance policies as part of the overall plan and execution of the overall product training and development activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop education and training material, ensuring that content is relevant and supports brand objective/strategies, (i.e. product launches, channel development strategy, sales strategies, product positioning, skincare regimens or protocols, technology, etc.), and is consistent with the professional image of the brand with the purpose of driving sales and expanding Revision Skincare's presence across the nation.
  • Lead education development and curriculum creation that will be utilized in the field, at seminars, on podium, at sales meetings, business partner portal, or within customer accounts that drive market performance.
  • Manage education strategy for new product launches in collaboration with marketing team and develop training tools and programs for launch support. Lead or facilitate product expertise in all levels of curriculum.
  • Evaluate the need for new education and training programs, and continually evaluating effectiveness of new and existing programs that are focused on developing product and skincare expertise.
  • Work closely with the Science and Marketing teams to provide input and expertise to ancillary training support materials such as creative briefs, collateral materials, education formats, product guides, technical videos, training scripts, clinical study abstracts and other projects as required.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Sales Leadership to organize, create and redevelop training content.
  • Establish assessment program - to ensure product knowledge retention and application capabilities are in place for ongoing development and evolution in sales training and education to develop skincare experts.
  • Source new training methodologies and mediums to complement education programs to include a strong focus to utilize technology.
  • Participate in sales/education meetings and other presentations. Prepare presentations on educational/training programs for the team as necessary.
  • Evaluate and improve the on-boarding training protocol for new field sales employees and newly acquired accounts as needed to optimize effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage a field-based education team that will work on educating existing accounts, newly acquired accounts and prospect training introductions to the Revision Skincare Brand.
  • Responsible for development of field-based education team to provide the highest quality training for internal and external customers that is aligned to brand strategies and organizational objectives that provides expert education on Revision products as well as knowledge with procedures and other aesthetic treatments.
  • Provide team leadership as well as team involvement with the sales team and other internal teams to work together meeting external customer expectations.
  • Prepare a Monthly Operating Report for Executive Team that incorporates project status report, ROI analysis and forward-looking strategic direction.
  • Lead, compose and develop content programs that incorporate group trainings, individual trainings or other trainings as required.
  • Integrate with digital platforms as required.
  • Develop and execute training for new hires that includes orientation resources and materials, corporate training and follow-up training resources as required by sales leadership.
  • Report education team and training team ROI contributions to evolve understanding of how to best utilize strategic business resources to maximize future ROI that are aligned with organizational objectives and budgets
  • Manage budget as allocated
  • Facilitates National Sales Meetings bi-annually
  • Other duties may be assigned based on business needs and changing market conditions


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in sales and education/training required. Ideal candidate should have relevant experience in aesthetics, cosmetic and/or medical device industry. Bachelor's degree; MBA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of people-management experience and ideally leading a team of trainers.
  • A minimum of 5 years' public speaking and presentation experience in a variety of settings.
  • Proven track record in developing educational program content from start to finish and integrating testing and technology strategies.
  • Strong background in leading and conducting trainings to both internal and external customers.
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise with commonly used computer technology is expected, including proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and a training platform technology.
  • Positive attitude, self-confidence, honesty and a team player outlook required.
  • Ability to proactively manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency, work effectively under pressure, and be able to multi-task.
  • No less than 25% travel required.

  • Demonstrated business acumen and knowledge of aesthetic medical practice processes
  • Track record of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
