QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must hold acceptable NJ School Administrator Certification and/or Principal Certification
2. Elementary Certification and five years elementary teaching experience preferred 3. Elementary administrative experience required
4. Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a diverse school community
5. Ability to work as a productive component of a highly functioning administrative team
6. Extensive knowledge and experience with elementary language arts instruction required.
7. Knowledge and experience with research based math programs, NJSLS-Science and Social Studies preferred.
8. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and use data to inform instructional decisions
9. Proficient with computer applications including but not limited to Google Apps for Education
10. Exceptional interpersonal skills (communication, problem solving, conflict management, collaboration) to share research-based instructional approaches with teachers and administrators, and to provide advice, mentoring, and coaching
11. Criminal background check and proof of US citizenship or legal alien status required
12. Bi-lingual preferred
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Effectively works with principals to implement, monitor and improve upon the curriculums/programs assigned.
2. Revises procedures and documents as required by changes in state, federal or district mandates.
3. Identifies priorities for program improvement based upon the analysis of data and performance indicators.
4. Oversees and/or assists with the selection and use of assessment instruments which align to assigned programs and/or are required by the state.
5. Keeps principals, teachers and school community informed of program requirements, events and activities.
6. Attends Board meetings and prepares such reports for the Board as the Superintendent or designee may request.
7. Recruit, train, and evaluate instructional coaches.
8. Facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for instructional coaches.
9. Provide regular feedback and support to instructional coaches to enhance their effectiveness.
10. Promote collaboration and best practice sharing among instructional coaches. 11. Enforces all Board policies, administrative directions and state laws/regulations 12. Designs and manages strategic long-range and short-term plans.
13. Keeps accurate documentation and collaborates with teachers within all subject areas to identify at-risk students
14. Conducts observations and discusses instructional strategies and effective implementation. Observes and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel in accordance with law, code and Board policy, providing appropriate specific feedback
15. Plans and implements an intensive and sustained staff development program for effective instruction in collaboration with the principals, department supervisors, and Assistant Superintendent. This includes developing programs and professional development surrounding such topics as curriculum and instructional design, acquisition and implementation of appropriate instructional technology, etc.
16. Collaborates with appropriate administration to develop professional development for paraprofessional and other classified personnel to include them in school improvement efforts.
17. Communicate with stakeholders regarding the content from the curriculum department.
18. Addresses all elements of effective research-based instructional programs.
19. Maintains on-going data related to grade level and student progress.
20. Responsible for creating, monitoring, and updating the elementary (K-4) curriculum guides.
21. Coordinates curriculum alignment activities in instruction.
22. Aggregates a curriculum resource bank.
23. Conducts/prepares grade level and/or faculty meeting content to review student achievement data and information as appropriate.
24. Assists in setting grade level expectations with clearly articulated timelines, benchmark assessments, monitoring and intervention strategies to assure success for each targeted student.
25. Attends workshops and conferences for professional growth as they relate to this position.
26. Works positively toward meeting district and school improvement goals.
27. Understands that job responsibilities may vary in each school.
28. Work closely with the Assistant Superintendent on assigned duties.
