POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Job Summary:
The Director of Emergency Response will primarily be the main point of contact for the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) and will lead the GardaWorld team in the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC). The Director of Emergency Response will also support other emergency response contingency operations as required.

Employees may also be required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.

POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Job Summary:
The Director of Emergency Response will primarily be the main point of contact for the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) and will lead the GardaWorld team in the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC). The Director of Emergency Response will also support other emergency response contingency operations as required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide input to build out SEOC team, operational team, and access current operational status of Response Logistics as it relates to the FDEM Emergency Standby Material and Services Contract.
- Review GWFS logistics processes and procedures and provide input for improvement.
- Serve as the operational subject matter expert for FDEM Standby Material and Services Contract.
- Lead responses to Request for Quotes (RFQ's) and provide input for pricing strategies.
- Provides oversight of and is the main liaison with the state for Logistics Staging Areas (LSAs), Points of Distribution (PODs), Community Shelters and Emergency Responder Base Camps.
- Maintains overall program responsibility, ensuring all deliverables are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned which include providing input to the Business Development team's response to requests for proposals.
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree. Work experience in the Emergency Response field may be substituted for a degree.
- Three to five years of work experience in Emergency Response project management, consulting, technical assistance, or on the job experience at the SEOC level (FDEM experience is preferred).
- Must be familiar with general office equipment, computers, phone systems and scanners. Must be experienced with Microsoft Office Suite. Must have strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to prioritize competing requirements. Familiar with the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, contract documents, or governmental regulations. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Preferred:
- Prior experience with the FDEM Emergency Standby Material and Services Contract.
- Proficient with Web EOC and DEMES.
- Extensive knowledge with vendors and subcontractors in the Emergency Response field.
