Job Summary
This position is responsible for the leadership and patient care delivered in the Emergency Department, which includes but is not limited to planning, organizing, professional development, leading, recruitment, and evaluating in the Emergency Department. Align emergency department nursing goals and objectives with the hospital strategic plan.
Responsibilities
Planning: Structure staff work assignment to achieve high levels of efficiency. Prepares budget projections in a thorough, accurate manner that supports departmental goals and objectives. Anticipates problems and barriers, identifies solutions, and takes corrective action before project is implemented.
Leading: Established and maintains effective, cooperative relationships with others, including subordinates, peers, supervisors, and customers. Effectively researches issues, compares alternatives and risks, and makes appropriate decisions.
Organizing: Effectively and appropriately organizes and manages both long-term goals and projects, as well as short-term daily workflow, in order to meet project deadlines.
Stewardship:Monitors monthly departmental productivity and takes appropriate actions to ensure efficient and effective use of staff. Identifies and routinely monitors, and improves key departmental processes to ensure effective use of staff.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Master's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree in nursing with a combination of education and relative experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and ability to fulfill job responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Five years of Emergency Department experience. Three years of management experience preferred. Possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to influence, motivate, manage, train, direct, counsel, and develop staff. Must be an excellent communicator and have positive employee relationship skills.
- Light Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
Education
