Description
DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING: Responsible for all aspects of Traffic and Transportation issues from forecasting, planning/programming of future transportation needs, implementation of transportation related projects, and maintenance of traffic control equipment. Responsibilities include directing and training assigned employees, scheduling, budgeting, and project management of transportation related construction projects, conducting project reviews, providing strategic planning for the department and associated programs, and coordinating projects with other governmental agencies and the public.
Typical Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed South Carolina Professional Engineering license preferred
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other related Engineering field
Ten (10) years of traffic engineering and project management or related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Supplemental Information
All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation
