As the Director of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the functionality and safety of our facility, ensuring the well-being of guests and team members while upholding our commitment to exceptional service and financial success. You will oversee various aspects including physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and life safety systems, adhering to all relevant regulations. Conducting thorough inspections, coordinating maintenance activities, and managing construction projects will be among your daily tasks. Also, you will be able to work with local authorities to make sure that permits and codes are followed. Your leadership will extend to team development, recruitment, and training. Essential Job Expectations:

Facility Functionality and Safety Oversight:
  • Assist in directing and overseeing the functionality and safety of the facility, including buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems, and grounds.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations to protect the well-being of guests and team members.


Inspections and Maintenance:
  • Conduct facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure operational efficiency and safety.
  • Direct general construction and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all systems throughout the facility.


Routine Maintenance Management:
  • Assign, verify, and document completion of routine maintenance and repairs using the property maintenance management system.
  • Ensure timely and efficient resolution of maintenance issues to minimize guest disruption.


Regulatory Compliance:
  • Communicate with city, county, and state officials to maintain permits and licenses and coordinate required inspections.
  • Ensure full compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards to mitigate risks.


Capital Projects and Property Rehabilitations:
  • Assist in the execution of capital projects and property rehabilitations to enhance facility functionality and guest experience.


Team Management and Development:
  • Monitor and develop team member performance through supervision, scheduling, counseling, evaluations, professional development, and recognition.
  • Recruit, interview, and train new team members to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.


Leadership and Special Projects:
  • Act in the absence of the Director to ensure continuity of operations and decision-making.
  • Lead special projects as assigned to support the overall objectives of the engineering department and the hotel.


What you Bring

  • Three to five years of previous maintenance experience is required, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Universal EPA Certification.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds. Physical requirements include but are limited to prolonged walking and standing, bending, and stooping.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
