Plan, direct, and execute the development and implementation of evaluation plans, performance and quality improvement systems, and strategic planning initiatives to evaluate the impact of work plan activities and performance measurements for cancer division programs, including progress and outcomes achieved by internal. and external partners. Provide direct supervision of research and planning staff. Update Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) work plans and write evaluation reports, grants, progress reports, quality improvement plans, and success stories. Participate in meetings with funders, partners, and division staff.
Design and facilitate data collection, data analysis, data visualization, and data mining for the division, providing leadership to ensure division programming is data-driven and evidence-based and that programs document achievement of expected outcomes. Work with division data staff in presenting and displaying data, utilizing current. data visualization techniques. Integrate data requirements and develop data management plans. Utilize data to ensure division programs have a health equity focus and implement mechanisms to reach disparate and at-risk populations.
Provide support to the SC Cancer Alliance, and other community partners in efforts to align program objectives and leverage resources. Assist in the development and measurement of the SC Cancer Plan objectives and initiatives. Evaluate, summarize findings, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for improvements. to partner efforts undertaken on behalf of the Cancer Division.
Provide training, coaching and support to division staff regarding evaluation and quality improvement efforts. Create and lead a division evaluation and quality. improvement team. Participate on bureau evaluation team meetings to assist with information sharing, data collection and collaborative evaluation efforts.
Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the fields of translation science, research, planning, monitoring and evaluation, and quality improvement to include attending related training and conferences, applying new knowledge and skills to the position. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and supervisory or managerial experience in a planning, research or statistical setting.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in public health, sociology, epidemiology, biostatistics, or related field and two years professional experience in public health, social science or community organization work setting as a program evaluator, researcher, analyst, epidemiologist or statistician and supervisory experience or PhD and two or more years professional and supervisory experience.
