The Role:

Gibbons Whistler is looking for an experienced and passionate Director of Experiences to lead one of our 5 operational divisions. The Experiences division contains our TAG (The Adventure Group), The Spa at the Westin, Mountain Club and Festivals & Events businesses. Leading 4 General Managers, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality or tourism, with a proven track record in delivering excellent guest experience. The ability to achieve results through established processes is a must.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:
  • Oversee the operations of TAG, The Spa at the Westin, Festivals and Events, and Mountain Club - Leading each business's General Manager, driving alignment in the team and delivering results against specified 'North Star' targets.
  • Implement strategic initiatives tailored to enhance team, guest and community experiences within the Experiences Division.
  • Implement strategic initiatives tailored to enhance revenue, profit and balance sheet excellence within the Experiences Division.
  • Collaborate with other Operational Directors to ensure alignment and integration of services across the company

Guest Experience Excellence:
  • Champion a culture of exceptional guest service across all businesses within the Experiences Division.
  • Work with our Offering Manager to continually improve products and services within TAG, The Spa, Festivals & Events, and The Mountain Club.
  • Team Collaboration and Development:
  • Foster collaboration among the teams within the Experiences Division, encouraging innovation and shared best practices.
  • Mentor and develop team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver outstanding results in their respective areas.

Productivity Oversight:
  • Monitor and evaluate operational performance within the Experiences Division to ensure service excellence.
  • Work with the Director of Revenue to ensure effective sales strategy is implemented across all businesses in the Experiences Division.
  • Manage budgets and financial performance for each area, ensuring profitability while maintaining quality.
  • Coordinate resources effectively within the Experiences Division to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrable results achieved in a tourism or hospitality-related business.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire team members to achieve demonstrable results.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to interpret data and turn insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and project manage effectively.
  • Open and curious mindset; you show up with more questions than answers.

Salary and Team Perks:
  • $80,000 - $120,000 annual salary based on experience and qualifications.
