TITLE: Director of Federal Programs

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Federal Programs will play a vital role in managing and overseeing the technical and administrative aspects of Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Title I programs. The Director of Federal Programs will be responsible for ensuring compliance with
federal regulations, fostering continuous improvement with strategic school support, and facilitating effective communication across all levels of the organization.

QUALIFICATION:
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university
2. Professional leadership certificate issued by the Alabama State Department of Education
prior to the starting date
3. At least five years of successful leadership experience where fiscal management was
required
4. Advanced knowledge of state and federal regulations related to Every Student Succeeds
Act (ESSA)

REPORTS TO: Superintendent

SUPERVISES: Assigned Personnel

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Direct all federal programs, including Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IX, Impact Aid, and Title IV Part A.
* Ensure effective utilization of federal funds to meet the specific goals and objectives of each program.
* Stay abreast of federal education legislation, interpreting and advising on its impact on designated programs.
* Collaborate with professional staff in planning how to utilize federal funds.
* Conduct routine visits to schools to gather input and provide feedback on program implementation.
* Prepare comprehensive annual reports for the Board of Education and the Alabama State Department of Education. * Provide professional learning to employees on federal program guidelines, district
procedures, and board policies.
* Develop, monitor, and coordinate budgets for Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IX, Impact
Aid, and Title IV Part A.
* Monitor project timelines and ensure compliance with the Consolidated Application for
federal programs.
* Track expenditures of state and federal-funded projects for accuracy and compliance.
* Coordinate the implementation of McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Services.
* Use evaluative findings, including student achievement data, to assess the effectiveness
of curriculum and instruction programs.
* Recommend changes for improvement and participate in the drafting of project proposals
for grant opportunities.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

demeanor. Ability to be punctual and comply with a precise work schedule.
* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with
others. Knowledge of child development and especially of characteristics of students in
the age group assigned. Knowledge of the prescribed curriculum. Knowledge of current
educational research. Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board
of Education policy for evaluation of position.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Salary in adherence and
compliance with approved salary schedule.
