Director of Federal Programs

Position Purpose
The Director of Federal Programs directs and manages all Federal Programs for Title I, II, Ill, IV, V and other federal programs as assigned that are non-IDEA programs such as ATSI (Additional Targeted Support and Improvement). Responsible or utilizing Federal, State, and local funding opportunities to benefit the educational excellence of the district's programs, facilities, and personnel. Performs administrative duties and provides leadership with primary responsibility for the research, planning, development,
implementation, and evaluation of the instructional functions for the district. Assists the Superintendent in strategic planning, policy development and implementation of objectives.

Essential Functions
Directs the administration and coordination of the District's Federal Programs to ensure appropriate use of funds aligned to District Strategic Plan.
Monitors/coordinates all Federal programs and other programs as assigned.
Develops budgets for materials, supplies, and equipment for the various assigned programs.
Validates the identification and placement for eligible students in the Federal programs.
Provides ongoing professional development for administrators, teachers, and others responsible for implementing various Federal programs.
Acts as the liaison between Federal, State, and local agencies that have impact on the Federal programs.
Coordinates with various advisory councils that are essential to these programs and publicity about the programs to the state, local and other media.
Prepares and submits all reports due to various agencies connected to each program as required electronically and written and furnishes copies for districtfiles.
Assumes responsibility for professional growth by attending professional meetings and conferences.
Researches and disseminates information pertaining to federal programs and legally mandated changes in program requirements and standards.
Responsible for federal program budgets as assigned.
Supervise staff as assigned to the Office of Federal Programs.
Demonstrates regular and prompt attendance.
Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business, act ethically, set priorities, and work well under pressure with attention to detail.
Seeks grant writing opportunities.
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Qualifications:
Master's degree in education or related field required
Valid SC administrative licensure.
Previous teaching experience with a demonstrated track record of instructional
leadership.
Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment
practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth.
