Description:

The Director of Finance is responsible for the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements and reports, and the recording of all financial transactions. The Director of Finance must be knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). This position will also provide leadership and guidance to the Finance Department Team and is held accountable, to the highest degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports. This position will directly provide leadership and supervise the Accounting Manager, Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager, and Count Team Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Direct and oversee the preparation of the monthly and year-end financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of GAAP standards and ensure the timely completion of financial reports and statements in accordance with the same.
  • Establish accounting policies and procedures, as necessary.
  • Ensure the integrity of all financial data produced by the department.
  • Oversee the accurate preparation and recording of all financial transactions into the general ledger in accordance with the established policies, procedures, and controls of the company.
  • Ensure all balance sheet and revenue accounts are reconciled monthly in a timely manner.
  • Assist the CFO in spearheading the annual budgeting process and monthly budget monitoring.
  • Ensure IRS compliance with the accurate and timely filing, deposit requirements, and reporting of W-2G, 1042, and 1099 filings and record retention requirements.
  • Monitor all financial activities on property to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and controls of the company, federal and state commissions, and the Gaming Commission are enforced throughout Naskila Casino.
  • Ensure compliance with MICS as issued by the National Indian Gaming Commission, TICS as adopted by the Gaming Commission, and SICS as adopted by Naskila Casino.
  • Establish a system of trouble shooting financial problems to ensure cost effectiveness throughout the property.
  • Ensure all Balance Sheet accounts and Revenue accounts are reconciled monthly, ensuring reconciling differences are researched and corrected in a timely manner.
  • Assist with development and review of daily financial reports to verify accuracy.
  • Control the Finance department budget, as well as monitor all department budgets and provide analysis regarding budget variances.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Operations Controller and Revenue Audit team in the daily revenue auditing of gaming and non-gaming revenue, Food & Beverage, miscellaneous revenue, in addition to monthly promotional reporting and audits.
  • Provide all required support and information required to external and internal auditors in auditing reports, and annual financial statements audit report to include developing and implementing responses to any audit findings reported by the auditors in the annual report.
  • Oversee Drop and Court team, ensuring compliance with MICS and SOPs.
  • Oversee Revenue Audit team to ensure compliance with all MICS and SICS.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with the Gaming Commission, federal and state tax commissions.
  • Organize adequate staffing levels in the department by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, and counseling, the Finance Team Members.
  • Review departmental reports, addressing potential conflicts and/or misinformation.
  • Ensure a maximum level of companywide services and satisfaction, in the financial aspect of the business, is achieved and maintained.
  • Facilitate the flow of information throughout the property, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with the Finance Team.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements to lenders or bondholders in compliance with debt agreements, as needed.
  • Communicate with all Finance Department Team members in an effort to ensure consistency in procedures throughout the department.
  • Plan growth opportunities for those Team Members who display the necessary skills, motivation, and attitude to progress within the organization; provides for the fair and consistent treatment of all Finance Team Members.
  • Assist with year-end reporting, work with Human Resources and other departments on ad hoc reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related area.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a financial management position in the casino or hospitality industry
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of requirements.

Skills and Abilities:
    • Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software, including report writing.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with ADP payroll software and related GL interface.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with Blackline account reconciliation software.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with slot/gaming, F&B, retail, and hotel audits.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with Cage and Count operations.
    • Working knowledge and oversight of Warehouse operations.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with budgeting, financial reporting, expense analysis, cost benefit analysis, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
    • Extensive knowledge of NIGC MICS, TGA TICS, casino SICS, and FinCen BSA laws regarding regulatory compliance and reporting.
    • Extensive knowledge of IRS requirements regarding W2, W2-G, 1042 and 1099 reporting and records retention requirements.
    • Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate, with superior spreadsheet skills.

PREFERRED:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area.


**Salaried Position - $105K - 131K (Depend on Experience)

Monday - Friday and must be flexible to work hours based on business needs, including weekends and holidays
