Summary: This position is responsiblefor supporting management in strategic financial projects, including the development, implementation, and oversight of the Company's performance measurement framework. Existing legal-entity-focused reporting and analysis will be supplemented by tools focused on organizational, relationship and product profitability. In addition to working directly with the CFO on special projects, this position works collaboratively across functions (including FP&A, Treasury, Accounting and Business Operations), acting as a hands-on utility player in support of the evaluation and implementation of strategic initiatives.

Salary Range (Based on Irvine, CA): The salary range budgeted for this position is $132,500/yr to $201,400/yr and represents the Company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The compensation offered to a candidate may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in analyzing financial viability of potential products and services, including pro forma analysis as necessary to understand their benefits and impacts to the Company's strategy and financial performance
  • Support the formulation and development of strategic business initiatives and special projects, typically working directly with the Finance Organization's leadership and other Executive Leadership Team members
  • Coordinate implementation of strategic initiatives from start to finish, including building consensus among cross-functional teams and influencing decision making within senior-level audiences
  • Work with management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial performance tools and analytics, including suggestions for capitalizing on opportunities to enhance existing capabilities' value-add and efficiency
  • Responsible for the preparation of special studies, reports analyses and recommendations in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, statistical reports, and business forecasts for management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, but competitive candidates would be open to these responsibilities in the future

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the banking industry
  • Experience in corporate finance (with a +$10 billion bank), investment banking or management consulting preferred
  • Prior experience building and administering performance measurement frameworks (including reporting and analytical tools) strongly preferred

Skills:
  • Strong analytical and oral/written communications skills
  • Must be able to prepare presentations, executive summaries and memos to senior management, the Board and other key stakeholders
  • Must be comfortable and credible speaking in front of C-level management
  • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Extensive computer skills required to develop and maintain sophisticated financial models
