Purpose of the role:

Responsible for overseeing all financial matters for PlumpJack SF and Tahoe Properties including serving as financial advisor, strategic financial planning, lead and manage budgeting process for all SF & Tahoe PlumpJack businesses.

Responsibilities:
  • To hire, train, schedule, support, review, discipline and terminate employees directly accountable to his/her position, to maintain highest levels of employee morale and department productivity.
  • To establish and enforce policies and procedures for all Accounting and Payroll functions.
  • Partner with PlumpJack Presidents and businesses leaders to ensure company hits revenue.
  • Oversee all sides of accounting operations including: payroll, AP/AR and tax preparation.
  • Develop appropriate tracking methods for revenue and expenses.
  • Lead and manage the budgeting process.
  • Gather financial data for analysis and forecasting with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance.
  • Review revenue cycle metrics to identify and address issues affecting performance.
  • Coordinate preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly reports
  • Manage insurance coverage for PlumpJack, including compliance.
  • To control cash flow generated by Accounts Payable and Receivable, including authorization payments, and ensuring the timely collection of all bills due.
  • To review transmittals and journal entries to ensure accuracy and proper authorization.
  • To regularly review and update Accounting related control procedures in all departments, and report any procedures not being adhered to.
  • To ensure accurate and efficient completion of month-end closing procedures, including preparing month-end journal entries; and generating reports.
  • To prepare monthly Flash Reports for the Home Office.
  • To continually monitor and control departmental expenditures to ensure meeting operational standards while maintaining annual budget.
  • Process the financial activities for the PlumpJack Group to maximize profit and plan for growth.
  • Ensure a company complies with tax laws and regulations specific to PlumpJack operations.
  • Represent and market PlumpJack in a positive and professional manner as requested and continually promote PlumpJack internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property.
  • Promote and comply with all policies and procedures of PlumpJack.
  • Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
  • Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
  • Adhere to the attendance and punctuality policy as outlined in the PlumpJack Employee Handbook. To report to work as scheduled and be prepared to start work.


Candidate requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or its equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of five years experience in Hospitality accounting or related field, including supervisory experience.
  • Detail oriented, organized and efficient.
  • Diplomatic and calm with strong verbal communication skills.
  • Courteous, friendly and professional manner.
  • Good team player. Customer service focus. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable.
