QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.
  • Possesses a minimum of three years of experience in school or governmental accounting, to include time in a supervisory capacity.
  • SBO certification required, or ability to obtain within two years; CPA license preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups, and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of current computing technologies and applicable software applications.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Under limited supervision, plans, administers, and leads the fiscal affairs of the district efficiently and expeditiously.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs all financial accounting and acts as supervisor of assigned finance personnel ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local laws and reporting requirements.
  • Manages external audit requirements and provides information to auditors as requested, including review of draft financial statements and preparation of MDA.
  • Prepares and assists with monthly financial reports to the Board of Trustees, as well as other reports as needed.
  • Supervises monthly, quarterly or annual financial reimbursement requests for funding from various agencies through various reporting systems, to include State GAPS system.
  • Assists a variety of internal personnel and external agency personnel for the purpose of providing information, general support, and risk assessment of district operations.
  • Supervises and monitors the adequacy and effectiveness of the system of internal controls.
  • Assists in the management of fixed asset accounting records.
  • Reviews journal entries to all funds as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining debt schedules.
  • Assists in evaluating banking procedures to ensure monies are properly secured and invested.
  • Supports food service liaison in reporting and maintenance of food service accounts.
  • Contributes to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues, and opportunities.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Board, Superintendent, or Chief Financial Officer.
