Summary
The Director of Hatcheries will provide leadership, development and coaching to management within Hatchery Operations, for the particular region of responsibility, through but not limited to performance management, budgeting, personnel decisions, production programs, strategic planning, health and safety programs, etc. to meet the company goals and objectives.
This position should be in one of the following states - NC, VA, GA, MD, DE or SC ideally, with ability to travel up to 50-75% of the time.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Education and Experience
BS Degree in Poultry Science, Business Administration, Operations Management, Business Management, or related discipline, and 10+ years of related experience required. Master's or MBA preferred.

1. Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. 2. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another . 3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 4. Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment. 5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop strategic business plans for a competitive Live Production Operations program and maintain efficient competitive operations.
- Provide leadership, development and coaching to hatchery operations, for the particular region of responsibility, through but not limited to performance management, budgeting, personnel decisions, production programs, health and safety programs, etc. to meet the company goals and objectives.
- Support improvement and strategic initiatives in hatchery operations. Develop and execute multi-year capital plans.
- Build and maintain an effective team to manage hatchery operations to include succession and training.
- Management of cost, quality, and performance. Adhoc analysis of opportunities and leadership of solutions.
- Standardization of BMPs for best-in-class hatchery operations and Food Safety FSMA.
- Management of supply/demand, related to hatchery capacity and hatch projections, that optimize resources and meet demand needs.
- Communicate effectively with peers, producers, senior management, subordinates and non-company personnel to insure performance and resolution of problems.
- Drive the ONE Perdue concept across the organization including Breeders and Growout teams.
