- An experienced Director is needed to manage a multi-disciplined team in executing planning, new construction, and renovation projects for healthcare and life sciences facilities
- The Director will be responsible for building and maintaining client relationships, responding to RFPs, and presenting for potential projects.
- They will manage problem resolution related to design, staffing, and timelines while serving as the primary client contact.
- This role includes project coordination, execution, budget management, and staff supervision.
- This position offers the opportunity to advance to a VP/Department Head role, which includes significant bonus/profit-sharing compensation.
- A hybrid work schedule is available, with a minimum of three days per week in the Voorhees, NJ office.
- Team & Project Management
- Provide management, mentoring, and team oversight within the respective discipline.
- Oversee technical quality and QA/QC processes, ensuring documentation using standardized checklists.
- Supervise direct reports and assigned engineers, conducting necessary meetings for effective supervision.
- Coordinate project deadlines and manpower assignments with management staff.
- Develop bid proposals, contracts, and cost estimates using standard methodologies.
- Ensure projects are on time and on budget, making necessary adjustments to manpower and resources.
- Client & Business Development
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships with high levels of responsiveness and communication.
- Support department marketing efforts related to expertise.
- Work closely with other Department Directors for operational efficiency.
- Leadership & Financial Oversight
- Hire, train, and mentor engineering staff in conjunction with the VP and President.
- Conduct performance appraisals and address performance issues.
- Ensure compliance with project accounting and budget management.
- Maintain department budget and revenue projections.
Requirements
- Expertise in the design and project management of Acute and Ambulatory Care Health Facilities, as well as Academic and Corporate Research Facilities.
- Deep knowledge of multi-discipline engineering, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical/IT systems for healthcare and life sciences.
- Understanding of local, state, and national codes (NFPA, Joint Commission, FGI, AHJ).
- Experience with load analysis and energy modeling programs (eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, Carrier HAP).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; knowledge of USGBC LEED standards is a plus.

- Education & Experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering and managerial experience.
- Experience managing multi-disciplined MEP engineering and design teams.
