WAGE RANGE: $76,000 - $89,000/annually

JOB SUMMARY: Catholic Charities is seeking a self-motivated leader who is fun, youth-centered, compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally aware to serve as the Director of Hope Street Shelter.

Hope Street is a shelter for young people aged 18-24, offering supportive services including food, Legal Aid, mental health and wellness supports, clothing/laundry, medical care, and case management in an environment geared towards creating and sustaining healthy boundaries and relationships.

This position is responsible for the management of Hope Street Shelter and our Permanent Supportive Housing Program, including full supervisory responsibilities for staff members, volunteer management, fundraising and funding proposals and contract compliance activities, providing input on policy and procedure changes, policy implementation, financial management, strategic planning and development of new and existing program services, reporting, and budget preparation and management.

They will be responsible for the delivery of client services within Catholic Charities standards, and legal and licensure requirements. They will keep abreast of changes in the field, research new methods of service delivery, and networks with other external parties who provide related services to clients and maintain productive relationships with internal and external parties for the purpose of providing quality client services. They will recommend and implement quality improvement measures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • In conjunction with HR, recruits, hires, coaches, reviews, and supervises as necessary program staff members.
  • Collaborates with the Volunteer Coordinator in the placement of volunteers and interns.
  • Program development, assessment, and evaluation of program philosophy. Sets and monitors program direction, goals, and objectives, evaluate for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration with community partners to ensure positive relationships with other stakeholders and that agency is participating in dialogues beneficial to agency success and mission integration.
  • Monitors and/or negotiates contracts as required.
  • Responsible for program administration including budgeting and ensuring that programs meet agency, licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Writes and proposes new grant funding as required.
  • Ensures data tracking requirements are met. Prepares reports and statistical information as requested.
  • Responsible for reviewing and ensuring the relevance, accuracy, and timeliness of data and reporting for purposes of accountability and client outcomes.
  • Ensure required staff receive and document weekly clinical supervision (licensed positions only).
  • Participate in on-call administrator rotation, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERTISE:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
    • Five (5) years of relevant experience in a leadership role required.
    • Experience working with youth required
    • Valid Minnesota driver's license required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment (no vehicle required)
    • Ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness required.
